Great real estate news reported by Steve Brown in The Dallas Morning News today. High-end pre-owned home sales jumped more than 80 percent in the Park Cities and more than 50 percent in North Dallas during the first quarter of this year as compared to the same time last year. In addition, big increases were also reported in Westlake and northeast and northwest Dallas.
Overall, first quarter 2010 sales of million-dollar homes were up 23 percent in North Texas and sales of homes priced $800,000 to $900,000 were up 56 percent over last year.
We told you a few weeks ago that a recent Grand Vie Magazine planning meeting with some of our luxury Sales Associates had lots of talk about increased activity in their markets. And just last week, the home pictured above in Dallas’ beautiful Bluffview neighborhood sold. It was last listed at just over $3 million by Joe Kobell of the Ebby Preston Center office and the buyer was represented by Elissa Sabel of the Ebby Preston Keller office.
As for more moderately priced markets, today’s article states that the biggest gain was in East Dallas, which is up 23 percent from one year ago. Our own Sherryl Wesson, manager of the Ebby Lakewood and Northeast Dallas offices was quoted:
“We are gratefully very busy. The entrance of the first-time buyer coupled with feelings of a bit of an economic upswing has helped the move up buyers as well.”
