CISDR announced Thursday that the organization will receive more than $700,000 for their Student Upgrades Stay in School Project as a beneficiary of the 2011 Crystal Charity Ball. The project aims to address the drop out epidemic in Dallas County. With the funds, CISDR will add 14 Community in Schools professional on-campus staff to serve an additional 2,200 students.

CISDR s presentation to Crystal Charity Ball members included a video with testimonials from community leaders and donors. Ebby Halliday, a CISDR donor is featured in the video, speaking about the importance of education, along with Howard Hallam of the Ben E. Keith Foundation and former Ebby Rose of Distinction winner, Jeff Morris.

Ebby Halliday has always been dedicated to improving education. A school in her name, Ebby Halliday Elementary, is currently under construction in southeast Dallas and scheduled to open in August. Be sure to check out the CISDR video featuring Ebby.

Congratulations to the CISDR!
