For all you die hard shoppers, the wait is finally over. H&M officially makes its Dallas (and Texas for that matter) debut today when it opens the doors to its new 24,000 square foot store at NorthPark Center at noon.
The opening comes just in time for this weekend’s Tax Free Shopping Weekend, and Sunday’s Ebby Halliday-sponsored raffle drawing for the 15th Annual Orix Parade of Playhouses.
For those of you seeking a deal before this weekend, H&M is offering money-saving passes to the first 500 people in line – but if you’re interested, you better high tail it to the Mother Ship – as of 10:15 this morning, NorthPark Center’s Facebook Page was reporting more than 300 people were already in line. One commenter claims their arrival at 5:45 am made them #100 in line.
As H&M will soon learn – Dallas takes shopping very seriously. If you still don’t believe us, The Dallas Morning News is reporting the Swedish retailer has big plans for the Texas debut which include street teams throughout the weekend all around Uptown, West Village and downtown Dallas, rotating images projected onto the sides of tall buildings, and H&M wrapped coach buses that will provide free transportation to the store for college students from The University of Texas at Dallas today through Sunday.
Happy Shopping, and welcome to Texas, H&M!
