In commemoration of the JFK 50th anniversary, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Music Director Jaap van Zweden and violinist Joshua Bell pay tribute with Sibelius’ noble Violin Concerto, and Beethoven’s epic Symphony No. 3, the Eroica.

Also on this weekend s DSO program are a specially commissioned piece called The World Is Very Different Now, its title drawn from Kennedy s inaugural address; and Murder of a Great Chief of State, a brief Kennedy tribute composed by Darius Milhaud shortly after the assassination. Jaap van Zweden will conduct four performances at the Meyerson Symphony Center starting today, November 21.
