D-FW Weekend Round Up (10/2-10/5)

Live music is the name of the game this weekend in D-FW. When you’re not enjoying that, take time to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous fall weather forecasted for this weekend!

 

Katy Perry: Tonight, Thursday, October 2, and Friday, Oct. 3, Katy Perry is performing at American Airlines Center with opener Tegan and Sara.

 

Music Thursday: Tonight’s feature in the Klyde Warren Park’s JazzMasters Set is The Funky Knuckles.

 

The Molly Ringwalds: The Dallas Arboretum is hosting a “Cool Thursdays Concert Series” featuring live music near White Rock Lake. Tonight’s band plays all the classics from the 80’s.

 

Zac Brown Band: Friday, Oct. 3, the country music band takes the stage at Gexa with opener Ryan Kinder.

 

Natalie Cole: Known for her beautiful soul/R&B style, as well as for her connection to father Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole will serenade audiences Friday night at Winspear Opera House.

 

So You Think You Can Dance Tour: The top ten finalists and winner, Ricky Ubeda, of Season 11 will perform at Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie on Friday.

 

Fall for the Arts: Klyde Warren Park is hosting a day celebrating the arts on Saturday, Oct. 4 featuring live performances and exhibits. Participants include Dallas Summer Musicals, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Contemporary Ballet Dallas, Lone Star Circus and more.

 

Nasher/Target First Saturdays: As with the first Saturday of every month, this Saturday promises a day of fun for the whole family at the Nasher Sculpture Center. This month’s theme is “Creatures.” There will be activities, artist demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, family tours, yoga in the garden and more.

 

Dallas Mavericks Fan Jam: Get excited for the upcoming season at the Mavs’ annual Fan Jam at American Airlines Center. The preseason officially starts Oct. 7, but on Saturday you can sign up for season tickets, meet players and get autographs, watch an open practice and more.

 

Southlake Oktoberfest: The 13th-annual festival features a weekend of live entertainment including “wiener-dog” races, authentic German food and drinks, a sports zone, and a children’s play area. To top it off, admission and parking are free!

 

Cowboys vs. Texans: In week five, the ‘boys will take on the Houston Texans at home at noon on Sunday, Oct 5. Grab your friends, your jersey, and a seat around the nearest TV. If you have tickets, bring the noise!

 

Oscar de la Renta: Five Decades of Style: Fashion fans will love the newest exhibit at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Through Sunday, this is the last weekend that attendees can gaze upon the memorable clothes made for first ladies Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Reagan by one of fashion’s biggest names.
