About Me

When introduced, I tell people I am a FULL TIME, REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL.  Why do I specify Full Time, Professional?  Because unlike many REALTORS® this is my full time profession and single source of income.  If I don’t sell, I don’t eat.  I emphasize PROFESSIONAL because I have been a REALTOR® for nearly ten years and was in the telecommunications industry for over 30 years before starting my real estate career.

My first full year with Ebby I achieved their top “Star” level and was a Top Producer in the Rockwall Office.  We, The Welch Team, were voted as the “New & Emerging Business of the Year in 2015” by the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce.

I recently saw statistics that said Texas has over 500,000 real estate agents.  So you might ask, what makes me different the than other 499,999.  Good question!  My response is, 3 major items.

1.       Background

  1. Prior to real estate, as previously noted, I spent over 30 years in the corporate world of telecommunications. During that time, I successfully managed numerous multi-million accounts, all of which demanded exceptional customer service.
  2. Professionalism and responsiveness are two of attributes I brought with me from that environment.
  3. Since entering in to real estate, I have always been in the top 20% of both local and national agents in sales

2.      Education

After acquiring my real estate licenses, I continue to pursue additional training.  To date I have over 250 hours of post licenses certified training.  This helps me enhance my skills in special areas and allows me to better serve my clients and their unique needs.

3.      Technology

Coming from a telecommunication background, I have always sought to keep up with the latest in technology.  This, combined with the power of Ebby’s technology departments, allows me to provide my clients with state of the art searches, property tracking and client follow-up.

On the personal side; my wife of 42+ years and I moved here from the north-west tip of Plano in 2013 to be closer to our only daughter and son-in-law, but mainly our two grandkids – Brady 6 and Landry 4.  Since moving to Rockwall I have had the opportunity to go through the Citizens Police Academy, Citizens Fire Academy and Leadership Rockwall, Class of 2016.  I am a member of the Rockwall Chamber of Commerce and a Chamber Ambassador.  I currently serve on the city’s Architectural Review Board, Building & Standards Board and am on the board of the Rockwall Rainbow Room and Women in Need.  My wife and I also attend Lake Pointe Church and are actively involved in our Life Group.
