Lynn Drum Lanyon returned to her roots in 2014, moving back to her hometown and re-establishing her career as a Realtor — this time with her sister, Tricia Drum Davidson, as her partner.
Lynn obtained her real estate license in 1998, shortly after she graduated from the University of Texas. She helped her clients buy and sell homes for five years in Preston Hollow, the Park Cities, and surrounding neighborhoods.
“I started off representing friends, which led to repeat business and referrals to friends of friends,” said Lynn, who was named her agency’s “Rookie of the Year.”
But her husband’s career took them away from Dallas for more than a decade. While living in Chicago, Lynn earned a Certificate in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design and managed an upscale showroom at the Merchandise Mart. The Lanyons also lived in London and Stockholm before moving back to Dallas in the summer of 2014.
Meanwhile, Tricia also earned a bachelor’s degree from UT in marketing. She worked as the promotions director for an Austin radio station before jumping into advertising here in Dallas.
Now the Drum sisters are living in the same neighborhood in which they grew up; sending their children to the same schools they once attended (ESD for Lynn’s sons, Hockaday for Tricia’s daughter) and relying on their experience to help their clients find the homes of their dreams.
“The homeowners we represent benefit from my passion for architecture, my studies in interior design, and my knowledge of the market,” Lynn says, “as well as Tricia’s marketing and advertising talents. It’s a winning combination.”
