My Grandparents built a home on Cedar Creek Lake in 1968 and our family spent a great deal of time there. As children, we explored the woods, the lake and enjoyed family time at their home. Great memories.
My family owned a custom drapery and interior design studio in Lubbock and I grew up around decorating and interior design. I learned about measuring windows, hanging drapes, arranging and rearranging furniture, hanging wallpaper, removing wallpaper, flooring, sewing and working with different fabrics and decors. I always have a new idea for our home!
After attending Texas Tech, I moved to Dallas to begin my career in banking. Over the years, I had many roles in the banking industry. While I enjoyed them all, my favorite was as a Branch Manager and Financial Advisor for the last 20+ years of my career. I loved my customers, helping them attain their financial goals and planning for their future. I loved my staff and helping each one grow from an entry level position into a professional. It was very rewarding.
My husband, David and I raised our children in the Dallas area. Our children were very active in sports and school activities. I was active in the PTA, Booster clubs and all of our children’s activities. We were very busy and I loved every minute!!! We kept a boat in a marina on a lake near our home for many years. Since that lake was in the Metroplex, there was a lot of boating traffic and it was difficult to find a nice quiet place to relax in peace on the lake.
So, we decided to look for a second home on a lake a little further away (but, not too far) from Dallas. Having spent so much time at Cedar Creek, I began looking online at properties. We found a great real estate agent and spent several weekends looking for the perfect place. We finally decided on a home and bought it. It was to be our weekend home for relaxing and we would spend our weekdays in Dallas working.
Even though we had our beautiful “dream home” in Dallas, we found ourselves spending more and more time at the lake. We even started leaving on Monday mornings from the lake because we just didn’t want to go back on Sunday night. Finally, we realized that we just loved being on the lake and were always counting the days/minutes until we could get back there. Our “dream” had changed. So, we sold the house in the suburbs, I left my career in the Banking industry and we moved full time to our new dream on the lake. We have never regretted it.
There are so many people from different walks of life and different stories about how they got to the lake, but one thing we all have in common is the love for the beauty, relaxing atmosphere, friendly people and laid back lifestyle at Cedar Creek. The Cedar Creek Lake area is a vibrant community with so much to offer. I would love to show you around the area and help you realize your dreams at Cedar Creek Lake. If you are already part of the Cedar Creek Lake community and need to sell your home to move up, move down or unfortunately, move away, I am an experienced and knowledgeable advocate of the area that can help you find the buyer you need.
