Steve Smith is Vice President of Marketing for the Ebby Halliday Companies. In this role, he develops and oversees brand strategy, marketing, advertising, public relations, promotions and the online presence for three residential real estate brands: Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave-Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew. Smith is also a member of the senior leadership team, participating in company planning, organizational direction and strategy. He joined the company in 2012.
Before being named Director of Marketing, Smith served as Director of Public Relations and Marketing operations for the Ebby Halliday Companies, overseeing the day-to-day operations of an industry-leading team of brand strategists, graphic designers, social media and public relations specialists, copywriters and videographers.
Prior to joining the Home Office of the Ebby Halliday Companies, Smith was Director of Marketing & Advertising for Dave Perry-Miller, one of the nation’s top residential real estate agents. He has also served as senior real estate editor of The Dallas Morning News’ real estate advertising sections, where he developed, introduced and launched numerous new products for digital and print media. Additional professional experience includes the Dallas Business Journal and well-known marketing services agency TracyLocke, where he worked on major international accounts.
A graduate of Baylor University, Smith lives in Dallas with his wife, Farrai. The couple are the proud parents of two adult daughters. In addition to being a licensed residential real estate agent, Smith is a Certified Flight Instructor and holds the Advanced Scuba Diver certification. He enjoys traveling, particularly the mountains, and has climbed several of Colorado’s most-famous “14ers,” as well as Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
