To receive the award, a candidate must be heavily involved in both GLAR and their community. Participation in the Texas Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors is also considered.
One of the three points of service our company was founded upon was service to our industry – and this is a great example of how that spirit of service is still being carried on 65 years later.
Thank you to all of our many Sales Associates involved in our real estate industry and congratulations, Becky!
If you haven’t already, this weekend is an excellent opportunity to do your spring cleaning. But what do you do with all those bank statements, tax returns and other sensitive papers that are taking up so much space in your home? Bring them to Ebby’s Northeast Dallas Office in Lake Highlands.
Tomorrow, a Cintas shredder truck will be onsite from 10 am until 1 pm to shred all the papers and documents you would like – and to make your life even easier, you don’t have to worry about removing paper clips and staples.
For all those other things taking up space in your closets and cabinets like clothes, shoes, games and toys, there will also be an onsite Goodwill Donation Truck.
This week’s “D Sale of the Week” takes you to beautiful Lake Highlands.
Listed by Sales Associate Jan Stell of the Ebby Northeast Dallas office, 9312 Moss Trail in Oak Highlands Estates offers four bedrooms, four baths and almost 4,500 square feet of living space. In addition, there are extensive updates, a beautiful pool and an even prettier price of $625,000.

77,000 square feet of interiors, 3,500 acres, 27 bedrooms, 29 bathrooms and let’s not forget the 4 half baths. Sounds like a typical second home, right?
Those are the stats of BootJack Ranch near Telluride, Colorado which was recently purchased by a Dallas billionaire. And it’s the same Dallas billionaire who purchased one of our incredible Old Preston Hollow listings just last year, which was rumored to be the most expensive home ever sold in Dallas.
Of course our friend Candy Evans has all the details – learn more at her DallasDirt Blog.
The following is a memo sent to the entire Ebby Halliday Companies organization by Company President & CEO Mary Frances Burleson. It’s such great information, we thought we would share with all of you, too:
Recession? Not here!
“The current recession that began in the summer of 2007, the worst since the Great Depression, is now mostly behind us”, according to Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke in a recent presentation to the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce.
And, according to the Dallas Morning News on April 22, new home starts in North Texas are up more than 50% so far this year.
These are good indicators of a rapidly recovering residential real estate market in our area.
But, the best news is right here at the Ebby Halliday Companies!
Your hard work, professionalism, and your ability to list and sell successfully in any market are clearly evident in our sales figures.
For the first quarter of 2010, closed sales are up 11%, and pending sales are up 26% over last year.
2010 is shaping up to be a very good year for us all!
Great real estate news reported by Steve Brown in The Dallas Morning News today. High-end pre-owned home sales jumped more than 80 percent in the Park Cities and more than 50 percent in North Dallas during the first quarter of this year as compared to the same time last year. In addition, big increases were also reported in Westlake and northeast and northwest Dallas.
Overall, first quarter 2010 sales of million-dollar homes were up 23 percent in North Texas and sales of homes priced $800,000 to $900,000 were up 56 percent over last year.
As for more moderately priced markets, today’s article states that the biggest gain was in East Dallas, which is up 23 percent from one year ago. Our own Sherryl Wesson, manager of the Ebby Lakewood and Northeast Dallas offices was quoted:
“We are gratefully very busy. The entrance of the first-time buyer coupled with feelings of a bit of an economic upswing has helped the move up buyers as well.”
Each year, Fast Company Magazine takes 12 of the best and boldest ideas from various cities across the nation to create their idea of the perfect city. And we’re proud to report that this year’s Fast Cities 2010 features Dallas for having culture front and center.
We can thank the new AT&T Performing Arts center for tipping the culture scale in our favor. Fast Company says its October opening solidified our already thriving Arts District by “bringing a red-hot heart to the city’s downtown, already home to a symphony hall and sculpture museum“.
Ebby Halliday has always recognized the importance of the arts and culture in the cities we serve and we are proud to be a Flagship Corporate Alliance Donor of the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

But don’t think Dallas’ can-do spirit stops there for our Arts District, it’s going to get even better in the coming years. The Park, five acres of shared public green space over the existing Woodall Rodgers Freeway will unite Downtown Dallas and the Arts District with the already vibrant Uptown. See for yourself by checking out this great virtual fly through of The Park:
And if all this makes you want to live in the middle of the culture and excitement, Dallas makes the grade on that, too. From luxurious hi-rise living at One Arts Plaza, The Residences at the Ritz Carlton and Azure to great condos and townhomes, The Big D offers endless urban living options.
Think about this – this is an opportunity to see a living legend perform in the incredibly beautiful and intimate Winspear Opera House (there are only 2,300 available seats). Talk about the hottest ticket in town!
How do you get in? Don’t worry, we can help.
