Ebby Halliday Companies Support the 2012 Dallas Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon Benefiting Happy Hill Farm Academy

The field at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington was the place to be this afternoon. But today, all the plays were for a great cause. For the third time, Jerry s World was filled with hundreds of luncheon tables for the annual Dallas Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon, which benefits The Dallas Cowboys Courage House at Happy Hill Farm Academy.

Happy Hill Farm Academy is a Christian boarding and day school on the fringe of the Metroplex near Granbury where boys and girls ages five to eighteen live, work and study on a 500-acre, working farm/campus. They accept no Federal or State funding, nor United Way money.

As it is every year, the luncheon was attended by 2,000 individuals including the entire Dallas Cowboys team and coaching staff as well as Owner & General Manager Jerry Jones and family. In addition to the Ebby Halliday Companies, other sponsors included Flowserve, Ford, Staples, United Healthcare, Interstate Batteries, American Airlines, Exxon Mobil, Neiman Marcus, Giorgio Armani and more.

The luncheon was attended by 8 Ebby branch office managers: Laura Brewer, Denton; Kathy Darrow, McKinney; Ginger Gill, Preston Center; Sylvia Sotelo Kidd, Rockwall; Connie Niedzwiecki, Flower Mound/Lewisville; Bill Tucker, Preston Plano Parkway; Van Vanaman, Arlington/Mansfield; Kay Wright, Plano. Also present were Betty Misko, vice president and director of sales offices, CFO Ron Burgert, Karen Greene, vice president and director of Corporate Real Estate Services, Randall Graham, vice president and director of marketing, Alex Parker, sales manager for The Lending Partners, and Martin Ripoll, president of Texas Premier Title.

Of course, emcee Brad Sham pointed out to the crowd that the one person in the room who had lived to see every single Dallas Cowboys game ever played, was our very own, 101-year-young founder, Ebby Halliday.

AS SEEN IN THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS: Ebby Website Opens Doors To A New Home

The following story was written by Stewart Lytle and appeared on the front page of the DFW Real Estate Finder section of The Dallas Morning News on Sunday, Aug. 26:

With an estimated 95 percent of all homebuyers starting their home search online, Ebby Halliday Realtors considers a strong website a very high priority. The redesigned ebby.com features numerous innovative new home-search features sure to please even the most-discerning buyers.

Like the vast majority of today s house hunters, Cathy Elster started looking for her and her husband s dream home online. After searching through several of the many real estate websites available at her fingertips, she decided to use ebby.com, although she was not working with an Ebby Halliday agent.

When visiting other websites, Elster had become frustrated when she spotted the perfect home, only to have it go under contract before she and her husband could make an offer. They felt even worse after finding out that a home presented as an active listing had, in fact, been under contract for weeks.

The Ebby site is very good at updating, particularly in getting photos posted quickly, Elster says.

The Elsters want to live in Plano or McKinney. They re looking for a three-bedroom home in the $300,000-range, ideally with a pool and a backyard large enough for their two sizable dogs.

I am very picky, Elster, a kindergarten teacher, says.

The Ebby site allows her to view listings by satellite and check out the size of the yard. She also likes the Advanced Search features, which let her input criteria and see only the homes that fit her choices. Elster signed up for daily email alerts one for Plano and the other for McKinney which provide details on new listings and indicate which homes are off the market or have been reduced in price. She hasn t found the perfect home yet. But she keeps looking daily.

Elster is one of approximately 7,200 individuals who visit ebby.com about 17,000 times each day, June Feltman, vice president for special projects, says.

Long before the Internet became essential to the homebuying business, Ebby Halliday Realtors had positioned itself as a technology leader. The 67-year-old company launched its first website in 1996, placing it at the forefront of Internet commerce.

Feltman and Randall Graham, vice president and marketing director, have made vast improvements to the Ebby site over the past 15 years. This year, they undertook a total redesign, using a respected website-building company that specializes in constantly improving technology for an invited few real estate brokerages.

Feltman is very excited about the new ebby.com.

It s wonderful, she says, adding that one of her favorite features is the Proximity Search, which identifies homes within a specific distance of work, schools, parks, medical care, friends and family. There is also a Map Search that employs a tool to draw boundaries around the desired location, as well as a design-your-own Open House Tour.

At Ebby Halliday Realtors, we are actively pursuing online features that will continue to make ebby.com the go-to source for North Texas real estate, Feltman says. Try it for yourself. You ll discover why so many buyers and sellers are so excited about the new ebby.com.

Fresh Listing Friday: This Home Shines!

This week s edition of Fresh Listing Friday takes us to a just-listed home in the Prestonwood Estates neighborhood of Dallas. Served by the Richardson Independent School District, the move-in ready home at 14958 Vistaridge was professionally updated in 2008.

The floor plan was redesigned to today’s standards with raised ceilings, wide arched entryways and current textures. From the stone and stucco exterior, the 8-foot double wrought-iron front door, handscraped hardwood flooring and replaced kitchen to the oasis-style pool and deck, this home shines.

An extensive backyard remodel included new landscaping, a pool update, a fence with an electric gate, an arbor and a built-in grill. A two-car garage, a mud room and a fifth bedroom with a private bath were also added to this exceptional property.

Located on a quiet street a bit north of Belt Line Road Road, just west of Hillcrest, this home offers value and easy access to shopping, dining and entertainment.

Agent Ranks Growing with Stronger Texas Real Estate Market

Photo courtesy of The Dallas Morning News

Ebby Halliday Realtors agent Carol Schacherl was prominently featured in a story that appeared recently in The Dallas Morning News.

In the article, Real Estate Editor Steve Brown reports that with Texas increasingly strong real estate market the number of new agents is growing significantly. Home sales are up 16% so far this year in North Texas and agents are busier than they ve been in a long time, Brown reports. (That s a sentiment that we ve been hearing regularly from many Ebby agents for some time now.)

Schacherl, who joined the Preston Center Office of Ebby Halliday Realtors last year, previously worked in the mortgage business. In the article, she tells Brown her decision to go into residential real estate sales is really starting to pay off. Also featured is Associate Amy Jennings of the Ebby Plano office who has more than 10 years of experience in the construction industry. She was taking her real estate license tests the week she was interviewed for the story.

Dallas Morning News subscribers may click here for the full article from Steve Brown.
