Of The Day: 4 Dallas Bars Make Southern Living’s Top 100

Looks like Southern Living knows where to have fun in Big D. The magazine’s staffers recently “sipped their way through the South to compile a list of their 100 favorite Southern bars.” 15 of these are in the great state of Texas and 4 of them are right in our backyard in Dallas. What’s fun is that each bar on the list has been given a signature drink. So, if after reading all of our weekend suggestions, you still need something to do this weekend, why not try out a new spot? Here are the four Dallas bars and their drinks that made the cut.

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Ever find yourself having one of those weeks where you wish you could just drop everything and take some time for yourself? Well we’ve got some ideas for relaxing around the home that won’t throw off your entire schedule. There are so many little things you can do to take some weight off your shoulders and allow you the chance to take a deep breath a relax!

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Water therapy. Shut the door, run some hot water, light some candles, and take a long soak in the tub or enjoy the calming rain of a shower. Leave all your stresses in another room and just take time to enjoy the moment.

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Get cozy. Send to your kids to the relatives’, put the dog outside, and get a fire going. Sometimes all you need is the natural warmth, some soft pillows, and a luxurious blanket to put you in a soothed state of mind.

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Send it out. Are you the ruler of all things laundry in your home? Spend a little extra cash and send your laundry out! Many places will pick up from your home and/or deliver it back to you. You’d be surprised how much one less chore can do to bring you back to sanity.

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Get in bed. You don’t have to sleep, but if you have time for a nap that’s never a bad thing. Light a candle, turn down the lights, and cozy into some pillows. Just thirty minutes of reading, napping, watching TV, or day dreaming from the comfort of your bed will give you a whole new lease on life.

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Bring in some help. Call a maid or cleaning service to deep clean a space or two. Imagine sparking countertops, no crumbs in that little space under the cabinetry or in the cracks, and the joy of not having to do any of it yourself. It’ll cost some extra cash, but the peace of mind of knowing things are clean is really priceless, isn’t it?

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Add life. Pick up some flowers this week at the grocery store and scatter them around the most lived-in rooms in your home. That splash of fresh, new life will have you smiling every time you catch it out of the corner of your eye.

7 Ways to Spoil Yourself at Home

Order out. If you’re the chef at your home, take a night off. One night of Chinese, pizza, or take out from your favorite restaurant will do you a lot of good mentally.

We all have moments of feeling overwhelmed by our daily lives. Finding little ways to treat yourself can make all the difference, though. Scatter these throughout your life and you’re bound to feel some stress release and a restored sense of yourself.
