If you’re not to busy planning your Super Bowl party and you need to find some things to do before game day, you might want to check out some of this weekend’s events around D-FW.


Chili-Pa-Looza: Holy Grail Pub, in Plano, is hosting its 3rd annual Chili-Pa-Looza this Friday and Saturday. They’ve got four assorted house-made chilis for you try at $9 a bowl or $15 for a flight of all four! No reservations required.


Dan Rocha: Head Uptown to The Rustic to hear Dallas-based singer-songwriter, Dan Rocha, perform live. The show starts at 9:30 on Saturday.


2014 DFW Boat Expo: Starting this Friday and going until Sunday, Feb. 9, check out over 650 all-new models. Boats and watercrafts will be available for sale from 20 of the nearly 150 vendors that will be in attendance at Dallas Market Hall.


Year of the Horse Tasting Menu: Celebrate the Chinese New Year at Five Sixty, starting Friday and going until Feb. 13. Chef Wolfgang Puck will inspire you with a five-course tasting menu including horse mackerel tartare, whole roasted quail, Maine lobster, Chinese New Year dumplings, and house-made fortune cookies, among other things. The menu is $135 and for an additional $50 you can add wine pairings.


Arts & Letters Live: Jessica Fellows: If you’re a fan of all things Downton Abbey, you’ll want to check out this event with Jessica Fellows, the #1 bestselling author of The World of Downton Abbey and The Chronicles of Downton Abbey. Get all the inside scoop and attend a book signing following the event, which takes place at First United Methodist Church of Dallas.


Road to Sochi Tour: Go to Klyde Warren Park on Sunday to meet some U.S. Olympic athletes as part of their tour across the U.S. before competing in the 2014 Winter Olympics. You’ll even get to try some events for yourself, including luge, hockey and speed skating!


The 2014 Color Dash 5K: Even if you’re not in to running marathons, you may be in to watching this one. On Saturday, race runners will be dowsed in colored power, resulting in a stream of colorful people running around Fair Park. After they complete the race, there’s a dance-off and a costume contest.


Harlem Globetrotters: If you haven’t seen the commercials running on TV right now, the Harlem Globetrotters are coming to our very own American Airlines Center. They make the trip annually, and always deliver an amazing show! Autographs and photographs with the players will follow the shows, one at 2 p.m. and one at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
