Weekend Round Up: Sarah Jessica Parker

We’ve got the scoop on the best events in food, music, and entertainment for D-FW’s first weekend in March. If you’re fresh out of ideas for what to do with your weekend, check out this list!


We Will Rock You: The Music Hall at Fair Park and Dallas Summer Musicals present We Will Rock You, a production of songs by the band Queen that goes until March 16.


George Thorogood & The Destroyers: Tonight, Thursday March 6, the band will play live at the House of Blues Dallas. Trying to think of why you recognize the name? They’re hit single in 1982 was “Bad To The Bone.”


Dallas Stars: Tonight, Thurs. March 7, the Stars play the Vancouver Canucks at 7:30. Friday, March 8, they’ll face off against the Minnesota Wild, also at 7:30.


Dallas Mavericks: Cheer on the Mavs as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers Friday night, March 7, at 7:30. And again on Sunday, March 9, against the Indiana Pacers at 6:30.


Out of the Loop Fringe Festival: The WaterTower Theatre and Addison Conference Centre will host this year’s Out of the Loop Fringe Festival, which goes until March 16 and showcases local theater and dance companies.


Untapped Music & Beer Festival: We mentioned this event last week, which takes place this Saturday, March 8. Held in Fort Worth at the Panther Island Pavilion, there will be more than 200 beers from 65 breweries as well as nine national and local musical performances.


Dallas Blooms: The beauty of spring flowers continues this weekend at the Dallas Arboretum.


Sarah Jessica Parker: The star and fashion personality will be at Nordstrom NorthPark on Sunday, March 9, to sign autographs and publicize the release of her SJP Collection.


A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Sunday, March 9, and Monday, March 10, Shakespeare Dallas will present what is arguably one of the best plays Shakespeare wrote in his lifetime. It’s part of a series of by the group, and will be held in Hamon Hall at Winspear Opera House. You can also go to a “Lunch and Learn” to discuss the play at Klyde Warren Park.


Sunday Chef Mix: Don’t forget about this event on Sunday that we mentioned earlier this week. You can eat great food from North Texas chefs and give to a great cause to help a neighbor in need.
