Members of six Ebby offices, 190@Jupiter, Frisco, Plano, Plano/Willow Bend, Preston Keller and Preston Plano Parkway, gathered yesterday to learn about the latest goings-on in the prospering city of Plano. The group heard from Plano City Manager Bruce Glasscock.

Just a few of the highlights included:

*  Toyota’s move to Plano and its 4,000 jobs will be the largest out-of-state move to Plano since J.C. Penney transferred its headquarters in the 1980s.

*  San Antonio-based USAA’s opening of an information-technology center in West Plano that will employ almost 700 high-tech workers.

*  FedEx Office and Print Services is moving its corporate headquarters to Plano. The project is part of a mixed-use project with offices, apartments, retail and a hotel on 240 acres surrounding the J.C. Penney headquarters.

*  A new 17-story, upscale high-rise called Haggard Place is planned for the corner of Spring Creek Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway on the former Haggard family farmland.
