Texas Attracting International Homebuyers


Strong growth continues for international real estate activity in the Lone Star State, according to the new 2014 Texas International Homebuyers Report from the Texas Association of Realtors. Among the reports highlights:


*  Texas accounted for 12 percent ($11.06 billion) of the international home sales in the U.S. from March 2013 to March 2014 — a 3 percent increase from the previous period and the highest level in the past five years.


*  Texas ranked No. 3 in the U.S. for total number of international home sales by state, behind only Florida and California.


*  By far, the majority of U.S. home purchases by Mexican buyers from March 2013 to March 2014 were in Texas, with 65 percent of purchases occurring in the Lone Star State.
