Balloons, sweet treats and lots of smiles were on the agenda as the Mayor of Rockwall, David Sweet, officially proclaimed September 10 as “Ebby’s Day of Play” in the city. The fun-filled afternoon marked the first celebration of the annual event at Miss Ebby’s Place, the special-needs portion of the KidsZone playground at Harry Myers Park which was funded by a contribution from Ebby Halliday.
“Ebby’s Day of Play Ebby is a reminder that smiling often, thriving on change, investing in a dream and making every day count are more than just words to live by,” says Sylvia Sotelo Kidd, sales manager of Ebby’s Rockwall/Heath/Lake Ray Hubbard Office. “Ebby Halliday has a long-standing belief in the three-legged stool of service: service to the client, service to the industry and service to the community, and this wonderful playground is part of that commitment.”
In keeping with that commitment to service, Sotelo-Kidd announced that Ebby’s Rockwall Office is lending its support to the Rockwall Kiwanis Club’s “Food for Kids” initiative, which seeks to ensure that no child go hungry in Rockwall County.
“Ebby herself was among the very first to donate to this worthy cause,” Sotelo Kidd notes. If you’d like to learn more about how you can be a part of the “Food for Kids” effort, contact Ms. Sotelo Kidd at sylvia@ebby.com.
