The 2014 State Fair of Texas is here! For those planning on going, and why wouldn’t you be, here are some great money-saving opportunities you can take advantage of from September 26 through October 19. Just think of all the fried food you’ll be able to buy with your savings!
Advance Tickets: Buying in advance and printing yourself will save you $2 on general admissions and $1 on senior and child tickets. Your second option is to buy through DART’s GoPass app, which will save you $2 on every ticket and allow you to access them right on your phone. The third choice is to buy an advance ticket at any local Kroger, which will save you $1.50 on general admission.
Season Pass: For $39.95 you can attend all 24 days of the Fair and experience something new with every visit. If you buy a season pass in advance at Kroger you can get it for $34.95. The season pass includes a one-day companion ticket Monday-Friday.
Group Tickets: Save up to 30% on general admission tickets when you buy tickets within a party of 20 or more.
North Texas Food Bank Deal: Opening day, bring a full 20 oz. Coca-Cola product for donation and get admission for $6.
Any Day: McDonald’s offers $3 off general admission with one of their State Fair coupons (available on tray liner or bag stuffer) any day of the Fair. You’ll also find coupons for a $6 children’s ticket when you purchase one full-price general admission ticket.
Dr Pepper $8 after 5: Any day after 5 p.m., bring an empty Dr Pepper can and enter for $8 after 5 p.m.
Dr Pepper $5 Tuesdays: Every Tuesday during the 2014 season, bring an empty Dr Pepper can and enter for $5.
Can Food Wednesdays: Any Wednesday, admission is $3 for each visitor who brings three cans of food to donate to North Texas Food Bank.
Coca-Cola $6 Thursdays: Bring an empty 20 oz. bottle of a Coca-Cola product and enter the Fair for $6.
Senior Thursdays: Senior citizens (age 60 and over) get in free every Thursday during the Fair: October 2, 9, and 16.
KISS-FM Fridays: Print a coupon off the KISS-FM website and get $12 general admission on Fridays. This special does not apply to senior or children’s tickets.
Free School Ticket Days: DISD elementary school kids get in free on October 10 and DISD secondary school kids get in free on October 17.

-General Admission: $17
-Child (under 48″ in height): $13
-Children 2 and under: Free
-Senior (60+): $13
