Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

We are thankful – that we may conduct our business in the Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas area, possibly the most vibrant and dynamic real estate market in the nation.

We are thankful – for an opportunity to assist our neighbors, both those who are old friends and those new to the area.

We are grateful – to each and every one of our 1,700 sales associates and staff, our fellow professionals and valued partners in our success.

We are thankful – perhaps most of all, for our many clients who place us in their trust and confidence and offer us the opportunity to represent them in the purchase or sale of their homes.

We wish you all the very, very best for Thanksgiving and the upcoming holidays.

Dallas-Area Home Prices Up

Dallas-Area Home Prices Up

Dallas-area home prices were up 7.4 percent in the just-released Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller Home Price Index.

The gain from a year ago was the fourth highest in the country and significantly ahead of the 4.9 percent nationwide gain.

The biggest increases were in Miami, up 10.3 percent, and Las Vegas, up 9.1 percent. Charlotte and Dallas were the only two cities to see their annual price gains increase from the previous month. Dallas home prices were up 7.3 percent in August.

Dallas-area home prices are now more than 12 percent higher than they were before the recession and at a record level in the Case-Shiller index.

Eat Pizza, Make a Difference for Deserving Young Women

Pie it Forward Yellow Flyer

Tomorrow, November 25, offers a fantastic opportunity to help out our friends at The Ebby House at Juliette Fowler Communities. From 4 to 9 p.m., 50 percent of your dining tab at Project Pie Pizza will be donated to The Ebby House, an innovative new transitional community for young women who have aged out of foster care.

Every year, thousands of young women age out of the foster care system. Many of them face severe outcomes due to lack of family and adult connections. The Ebby House program seeks to reverse negative trends and outcomes by offering young women a home to live in and mentors to love them while they learn to become self-reliant and entrepreneurial — volunteers and mentors themselves — which is reflective of the values and life of Ebby Halliday.

Project Pie Pizza is located in Preston Center. Present the yellow flyer at the time of order, either via paper or online. Thanks for supporting the Ebby House and enjoy your pie!

Adopt an Angel in Our Community

Adopt an Angel in Our Community
Ebby Halliday Acers with a few of the gifts collected by members of the Ebby Corporate Office for the 2013 Communities In Schools Adopt an Angel program.

Yesterday, members of Ebby Halliday’s Corporate Office gathered for an early Thanksgiving-style lunch with co-workers. We paused to reflect on what a blessed year it has been and to launch our annual Adopt an Angel drive benefitting Communities In Schools, Dallas Region. Executives and staff members, many of whom have supported Ebby Halliday Elementary in South Dallas since its inception, took the opportunity to “adopt” the school’s students to ensure they have gifts of their own this holiday season.

The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS works at unlocking the academic potential of students who, without support, may not succeed in school.

CIS holds true to a couple of simple, yet very important, core values:

*  Children come first

*  Education is key to success in life

These fundamental values are very much in line with the values of our founder and favorite philanthropist Ebby Halliday and the core principles our company was founded on, which include service to the community.

As we begin to celebrate the joy typically associated with the holiday season, we hope you’ll pause to remember those in our community who are less fortunate. A great – and very easy – way to make the holiday season brighter is by “adopting” your own angel. To get started, visit cisdallas.org.
