Southlake Office Celebrates Grand Opening

We’re excited to announce that Ebby Southlake Associates and staff, corporate executives, clients and guests, including Southlake Mayor Pro-Tem Laura Hill, members of the Southlake City Council and representatives from the Southlake Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the grand opening of Ebby’s brand-new Southlake Office this morning! The celebration included an official ribbon-cutting for our beautiful new, more than 12,000-square-foot office at 1575 E. Southlake Blvd., across from Southlake Town Square.

“This beautiful new office is built for the future,” says Ron Burgert, chief financial officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies. “Built from the ground up, it offers a superior location in the heart of Southlake and is a statement of our commitment to serving Tarrant County for many years to come.”

The exquisitely finished-out office replaces our longtime, approximately 8,000-square-foot Southlake Office. Ebby Halliday has served Southlake-area homebuyers and sellers since 1985.

“We are extremely happy with the way our new Southlake Office turned out,” says Southlake Sales Manager Carolyn Rosson. “I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped bring this extraordinary new office to reality. Ebby Halliday has been part of the Southlake community for nearly 30 years and has distinguished itself as a valued partner for our clients and a leader in luxury real estate. We are so excited about the future of this great city.”

Adds Mary Frances Burleson, president and CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies, “We’re proud of our commitment to this beautiful part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We look forward to serving current and future residents in the manner they deserve for many years to come.”

Frisco Office Raises $72,000 for City House

 Frisco blog

Ebby’s Frisco Office recently hosted its Sixth-Annual Charity Golf Tournament. One-hundred percent of the proceeds, which totaled more than $72,000, will benefit City House and its expansion into Frisco. City House provides emergency shelter and transitional residential services to children and young adults who are in need due to abuse, neglect or homelessness.

This year’s charity tournament and after-party were held at Frisco’s prestigious Stonebriar Country Club. The event has grown over the years, from 50 golfers to this year’s 144 golfers and more than 250 attendees at the award dinner and silent auction.

Stonebriar is one of the finest private country clubs in Texas and we were thrilled they once again hosted our charity tournament. Everyone had a great time benefitting a great cause. Their efforts remind us all of what’s truly important.

On November 19, at the Frisco Office’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon, Macaluso and our wonderful Frisco Associates presented City House Director Teresa Keenan with a check for $72,440. Congratulations to everyone involved in this amazing effort!

What Buyers Want: New-Home Design Trends

CM What Buyers Want lg2

If you’re trying to figure out what buyers are in the market for when it comes to a new home, look no further than the list recently published by Builder Online. Nick Lehnert, executive director at an architecture and planning firm, and Mollie Carmichael, principal at a real estate consulting company, have drawn up a list of design trends that are at the top of this year’s buyers’ wish list.

Here are some of the top trends they’ve discovered for buyers in the new-home market:

What Buyers Want: New-Home Design Trends1. Outdoor Space: Buyers are looking for private, low maintenance, outdoor space that has a high level of connectivity to the inside of the home. Likewise, because of this connectivity, many desire covered and protected spaces that flow seamlessly from the rooms inside.

What Buyers Want: New-Home Design Trends2. Super Kitchens: We always say the kitchen is the heart of the home, but this trend has now taken on a life of its own. Buyers expect the kitchen to be a center for entertaining and easy conversation that is open to the other rooms around it. Large islands with seating and pantries that hide clutter both play major roles in combining function, practicality, and style.

What Buyers Want: New-Home Design Trends3. Media Centric: More spacious media areas where buyers can make use of large screen TV’s or projectors are on the rise. In addition to more wall space, larger media rooms mean more seating and entertaining.

What Buyers Want: New-Home Design Trends4. Home Office: We’ve reached the age of the return of the home office. However, proximity to the main living area and kitchen have become more important than the previously desired location near the front of the home.

What Buyers Want: New-Home Design Trends5. Magnificent Master Baths: A soaker tub, a glass shower, and luxurious finishes continue to rank high on the list of buyers.

What Buyers Want: New-Home Design Trends6. Making an Entrance: Two-story entries and grand staircases with drama are the most ideal way to greet guests.

Read more about these home trends here.

A Sincere Thank-You to our Veterans

Today is Veterans Day, the day in which we honor those who have given us our freedom. To celebrate this important holiday, we’ve compiled some of the best quotes throughout history by veterans and for veterans:

“How important it is for us to recognize our heroes and she-roes!” – Maya Angelou

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” – John F. Kennedy

“The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it.” – Thucydides

“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” – Elmer Davis

“The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.” – Jeff Miller

From all of us at the Ebby Halliday Companies, we offer a sincere thank-you to each of you who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. military.

Dallas No. 1 for Small-Biz Job Growth

Dallas regained its spot as the nation’s No. 1 metropolitan statistical area for small-business job growth in October, according to the Dallas Business Journal.

Nationally, job growth remained steady, growing at 0.23 percent over the past 12 months, according to the study conducted by payroll services company Paychex and business analyst firm IHS.

Dallas has been the country’s star for several months, only missing the No. 1 spot as the top job creator in one month: September. Officials are attributing that to a random fluctuation in the market. In October, Dallas overtook Seattle.

That growth isn’t expected to stop. While index numbers can’t predict the future, Dallas is showing very positive small-business growth trends.

At Ebby Halliday Realtors, the strength of the Dallas economy is music to our ears. Simply put, we’re bullish on Dallas and the entire D-FW region.
