Welcome Buyers with Seasonal Decor

When it’s time to sell your home, your agent will likely advise you to get organized and remove excess items around your home. This is a smart tip because when you remove the clutter and personal items it allows buyers to more easily picture how they’d live in the space.

Preston Center Celebrates Grand Opening


Last night our Preston Center Associates and staff, company executives, clients, and guests celebrated the grand opening of Phase I of our beautiful new 10,000-square-foot Preston Center Office at 8333 Douglas Ave. The high-visibility, contemporary office provided the perfect setting for a memorable evening.


Said Ginger Gill, Preston Center sales manager, “Our new office offers experienced, high-quality agents a sophisticated atmosphere and the latest technology in a much-sought-after Preston Center location. We’re thrilled with the way Phase I turned out and can’t wait for the completion of our second phase in late January.”


The project’s architect is Michael Twichell. Its designer is Gary Owens. Both Phase I and Phase II will feature only Texas artists. Phase II, which will include private offices for Top-Producing agents and teams and a spacious agent workroom, is scheduled to open in late January.

Thursday, Nov. 6:

Lone Star Film Festival: This year’s festival runs through Sunday, Nov. 9 and features great movies like Reese Witherspoon’s Wild and Life Partners starring Gillian Jacobs, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody. Screenings take place at AMC Palace 9 and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The 5th-Annual LSFF Ball will take place on Friday.


Stars & Stripes Film Festival: In a salute to Veteran’s Day weekend, Angelika Film Center Dallas will screen military-themed movies from Thursday to Sunday including Saving Private Ryan and Platoon. Proceeds benefit Sons of the Flag.


Jay Leno: The comedian and former host of The Tonight Show for 22 years will be at Bass Performance Hall to serve up laughs and benefit the UNT Health Science Center Foundation.


Friday, Nov. 7:

Eli Young Band House Party: They started at UNT in 2000 and now they’re one of the most famous country groups in the genre. They’re back in the area for the second year to host a country music festival at Globe Life Park in Arlington that will also showcase stars Gary Allan, Pat Green, Cody Johnson and more.


Fashion X Dallas: Fashion takes over in downtown Dallas at Fashion Industry Gallery for three consecutive nights of runway shows and pop-up shops. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Rise School of Dallas.


Saturday, Nov. 8:

The Art of Dr. Seuss Collection: Though he’s best known for his colorful children’s books, Seuss was also an avid painter and sculptor. Check out his works in an exhibit presented by Milan Gallery in Fort Worth through Nov. 24.


Bastille: The British rock band will headline the show at Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie with opener Ella Eyre.


Downtown Alamo Drafthouse Groundbreaking: To celebrate the unofficial groundbreaking of the new theater in the Cedars neighborhood, Alamo Drafthouse is hosting a party and an outdoor screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. There will be food trucks and beer from Deep Ellum Brewing Co.


Sunday, Nov. 9:

Cowboys at Jaguars: In week ten, the ‘boys will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at home on Sunday at noon. We’re 6 and 3 this season thus far, so grab your friends, your jersey, and a seat around the nearest TV.


Dallas Market Hall Sample Sale: Start your holiday shopping early and find something for everyone on your list- jewelry, toys, apparel, children’s clothing, home accessories and furniture- all at low prices.


Mavs: The Mavs play the Miami Heat at 6:30pm. Get to American Airlines Center to cheer them on.

Lazaranda 3rd Anniversary: Celebrations will take place on Friday and Saturday this weekend. Friday, join chef Antonio Marques for a five-course, tequila-paired dinner. Saturday, the restaurant will hold a party featuring special prices on house margaritas, Dos Equis, rib-eye tacos and more.

Café Momentum Pop-Up Dinner: This is the final dinner at The Joule Hotel before Café Momentum opens its doors in December. The event features an all-star cast of chefs and will be held on the rooftop terrace.


2014 Pie Contest: Whether you like to bake pies or eats pies, you should head to the 6th-Annual Pie Contest held by Vickery Meadow Local Market at Half Price Books. Enter your winning pies by Nov. 7.


The Texas Chefs Association Chili Confrontation: Round out NTX Beer Week at Four Corners Brewing where professionals and non-professionals will compete in a chili cook-off.




Ascension: The Design District coffee joint is planning to open a second branch in spring of 2015. Located at the Crescent, the space will be much larger but will have a similar menu serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.


Del Frisco’s: The flagship steakhouse location in North Dallas will relocate after 20 years to Uptown Dallas. It’s slated to open in 2016 at McKinney and Olive.


Jasper’s: Kent Rathbun is planning a fourth branch of the restaurant in Richardson that is scheduled to open in summer 2015.


Yard House: This “upscale-casual eatery known for great food, classic rock music and 130-250 taps of imported, craft and specialty ales and lagers” opened in Addison last week on Belt Line.
