From wine-paired dinners to a gingerbread house workshop, there’s something for everyone to get excited about this week in DFW. If you’re unable to attend the events, we also have exciting news about restaurant openings and expansions.


Tuesday, Dec. 2:

Celebrity Bartender: Hunter, with Prairie Wolf Vodka, will be at Grace mixing up cocktails to benefit Children’s Cancer Fund. There will be complimentary light passed appetizers and a cash bar.


Food Truck Schedule: See where you can find your favorite meals-on-wheels this week.


Holiday Wine Experience with Jean-Charles Boisset: The Dallas Arboretum’s DeGolyer Estate will host this special tasting featuring wines from Boisset’s collection of iconic wineries paired with gourmet dishes.


Social House’s 25 Days of Social: Every Tuesday, bring 2 canned goods to donate and receive a free appetizer of your choice in support of North Texas Food Bank.


Wrath Wine Dinner at Canary: Chef Gorji and Claire Marlin, Managing Director of Wrath Wines, bring you a four-course steak & seafood, wine-paired dinner. 15% of the proceeds will be donated to Laidley’s Ladies Foundation, which is dedicated to helping under-funded families received breast cancer care.


Wednesday, Dec. 3:

Women and Wine: Grace’s weekly event will feature three Burgundy wine tastings paired with light bites from Chef Blaine.


Thursday, Dec. 4:

To V or Not to V Holiday Cooking Class: Create a plant or animal-based traditional dinner that is sure to please every picky eater at your next holiday party.


Friday, Dec. 5:

Repeal Day Drink Deals: On December 5, 1933, Prohibition was put to an end in the U.S. In celebration of the anniversary of this historic day, several bars in D-FW are hosting drink specials.


Wassail Fest: The Denton Main Street Association presents a free festival on Friday and Saturday. This event will expand on the annual Denton Holiday Lighting Festival that takes place on Friday. There will be tastings, door prizes, and live performing arts and music.


Saturday, Dec. 6:

Gingerbread House Workshop: The bakery team at Whole Foods at Park Lane’s will host their annual Gingerbread House Workshop that includes one pre-assembled house, icing, and edible embellishments to create your own holiday home.


Pancakes with Santa: Head to McKinney Fire Station No. 5 for the annual event that helps benefit firefighters and their families in times of need.


White Rock Local Market Holiday Extravaganza: The 6th-annual event will feature 60 of the best local artists, farmers and food artisans. It’s being held at Lakeside Baptist Church on Garland Rd. and there will also be live music.




Bisous Bisous Patisserie: West Village will have it’s own French bakery in January. Cue macrons, éclairs and croissants.


Chef Graham Dodds: The Hibiscus chef will have the esteemed honor of cooking dinner at the James Beard House in New York City on January 31.


DiDi’s Tamale Diner: Trinity Groves‘ latest concept opened last week in the form of a tequila bar and tamale restaurant.


Harvest House: The minds behind the annual Harvest Fest in Denton will open their own bar in March 2015. Expect a beer garden, fresh veggies growing out back, coffee, juice, smoothies, beer, and cocktails. They also plan to hold live concerts.


Loca Luna: A new Tex-Mex restaurant has opened next door to the Galleria on Alpha Road. The menu features house-made salsas, enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, chicken in mole poblano and more.


Sfuzzi Pizzeria Romana:  Expect the New-York-Italian-American menu items at appeared on the original Sfuzzi menu to make a return when this new concept opens in the Dallas Design District mid-December.


Shell Shack Plano: The McKinney Ave. seafood joint will open a second location at the southwest corner of Park Lane and the tollway in spring 2015.


TNT Tacos and Tequila: The Quadrangle in Uptown Dallas has a new restaurant featuring a unique variety of tacos and plenty of tequila. They will also be serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
