Love Where You Live: Outdoor Living

Is there any outdoor living quite like lake living? Lake people really know how to do it right, especially the owners selling the property at 329 Hickory Hill Lane in Scroggins.

Love Where You Live: Outdoor Living

This picture shows the fire pit, open patio space, tall trees, and classic bench swing, but there’s so much more. The lake views are breathtaking from the spacious deck by the house to the deck by the boat lift. Honestly, we’re pretty speechless on this one. Does it get much better than sunsets over the lake and room to breathe away from the city? We’re definitely feeling the love.

When you’re not outside taking in all the beauty, you can catch the views from inside this three-bedroom, two-bath home. It’s a log home, so cue the charm, and it features walls of windows and vaulted ceilings. This home is ready to be your permanent or weekend retreat from the city. Take a full tour here.

Dallas Arts District: Unrivaled Design

Dallas Arts District: Unrivaled Design

 Winspear Opera House

New York has the nation’s tallest skyscraper. Chicago has some fancy buildings. But one city wins when it comes to sheer density of urban design: Dallas. That’s the conclusion of Kriston Capps, who writes about housing, architecture, design, and other factors that shape cities for CityLab.

Six different Pritzker Prize-winning architects have designed signature buildings in the Dallas Arts District, all within an area that’s smaller than a square mile. All of the designers have won other prestigious awards, including Japan’s Praemium Imperiale, the American Institute of Architects’ Gold Medal, and the Royal Institute of British Architects’ Gold Medal. Dallas’ superior six includes one architect who’s been knighted by France, one who’s been knighted by England, and one who’s been named a senator for life in Italy.

No other geographic area in the nation this small features as much architecture by architects who have received the top honors in their fields.

For sheer density of great design in a single destination? Head to Dallas.

Love Where You Live: Dining Room

You can feel the love that went into designing the dining room at 2626 Marvin Ave. in Dallas. We have no doubt that this space has heard its share of laughs and been the setting of many meals among family and friends.

Love Where You Live: Dining Room

The reason we chose to feature this particular dining room as part of our Love Where You live series of tri-fold- it’s beautiful, it’s functional, and it’s perfectly situated between the home’s kitchen and living room.

Let’s start with why it’s beautiful. We love the combination of feminine and masculine and the juxtaposition of rustic and chic used in furnishing this space. From the raw metal chairs and the pink and white upholstery to the wood and metal table and the delicate glass orb chandelier, this decor hits all the right marks.

Functionality and position work hand in hand here. Easy access to the kitchen and living room mean this dining room is at the heart of it all. It’s a part of the action and definitely plays a part in the homeowner’s daily routine, making it an ideal spot for congregating with loved ones. If time with family and friends around good food and drink is something you value, this dining room is ready to meet all of your needs.

Today’s room is part of a two-bedroom, 1-bath home with an open floor plan, hardwood flooring, granite kitchen countertops and a large sunroom. This home also offers an ideal location for those seeking convenience to some of Dallas’ most thriving areas- downtown, the Bishop Arts District, and Trinity Groves.

Phil Mickelson’s Home Listed by Luxury Portfolio Member

Phil Mickelson’ Home Listed by Luxury Portfolio Member

If you weren’t already envious of his golf game, prepare to be envious of Phil Mickelson’s gorgeous Rancho Santa Fe home. The good news though, is that it can be yours for $5,999,950, having recently been listed by our fellow Luxury Portfolio International member Willis Allen Real Estate.

Located in the San Diego area, Mickelson’s home is poised on 4.55 acres within Rancho Santa Fe’s prestigious Covenant community, but it might as well be the Italian countryside, with pepper and olive trees adorning the grounds and views of the rolling hills. Inside, the home is a true work of art, evidenced by hand-carved Canterra stone fireplaces, distressed wood beams and walnut floors, but it’s the outdoor lifestyle that the home truly caters to.

From the summer kitchen to the infinity-edge pool and cascading water feature, you might find it hard to spend much time inside. And, of course, there’s also a putting green, so you can keep your game sharp, just like Phil.

Below are a few photos of this fabulous Southern California property. Check out the listing page on Luxury Portfolio to see more of Phil Mickelson’s Rancho Santa Fe Estate.

Love Where You Live: Living Room

On the second day of our Love Where You Live series, we’re taking a closer look at the luxurious, two-story living room at 17203 Earthwind in Dallas. A living room should be stylish but cozy, inviting but clean and this space is all those things.

Love Where You Live: Living Room

We love this room for so many reasons- from the ceiling height and two-story, brick fireplace to the rich use of color and attention to detail. This room is located just off the entrance of the home but it’s also connected the gorgeous kitchen, the well-appointed wet bar, and has French door access to the back patio. It features hardwood flooring, a beautiful, cozy sectional, pops of color, and an eclectic mix of decor. The accumulation of all of these things is what takes this room over the top and makes it an obvious one to highlight in this series.

In whole, this home is a four-bedroom, four-bath residence that also features an updated kitchen with marble countertops, a covered deck perfect for year-round entertaining, and a pool with a water feature that backs to a wooded, creek lot. It could all be yours for just $695,000. Get the full tour here.
