Sommelier for a Day: III Forks wants you to help them choose a featured Merlot for the month of February. The night includes wine tastings and hors d’oeuvres.
Winter Chef’s Table Wine Dinner: Bridge Bistro and chef Eric Shelton, the Chef de Cuisine at Cafe Momentum, invite you to a wine-paired dinner. The menu includes a poached shrimp and pearled cous cous salas, panko fried braised pork shoulder, roasted salmon, and a grape and wine poached pear all paired with decadent wines.

Cooking Classes at Dallas Farmers Market: The Winter Session of classes continues Saturday with Samir Dhurandhar & Will Larsen of Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse. The theme is “Lobster, Chicken of the Sea”
Hot Chocolate 15k/5k: Head to Fair Park with 14,000 of your closest friends to run a 5k or 15k that ends with chocolate at the finish line. It’s also a chance to raise some money for charity.
Sunday, Feb. 8:
1st Annual Dallas Craft Beer Chili Bowl: From noon to 5pm, LUCK at Trinity Groves will host a beer-infused chili competition featuring teams from Bishop Cider Company, Community Beer Company, Deep Ellum Brewing Company, Four Corners Brewing, Haus of Growlers, Lakewood Brewing, and Texas Ale Project. The event will benefit North Texas Food Bank.
Modmarket Cooking Demonstrations: Help welcome the restaurant to their newest location at Preston Hollow Village with a free farm fresh cooking demonstration. Chef Nate will show you how to create some of their popular breakfast, lunch, and dinner items and let you sample them all.

Public School 214: West Village’s newest gastropub opened its doors Thursday, Jan. 28. Don’t forget, they’re also planning to open Public School 972 in Addison in fall 2015.
Shell Shack: Plano seafood lovers rejoice, Shell Shack plans to open a second location at Park and the Tollway in March. The first location is in Uptown on McKinney Ave.
ZaLat: Owner Khanh Nguyen of DaLat, the Vietnamese comfort food restaurant on Fitzhugh, plans to open a late night pizza spot right next door. It should open some time in February and will also deliver.
