This Week in Food & Beverage News

Savor Dallas has taken over this edition of Food & Beverage News, with multiple events every day through Sunday, but we’ve also included a wine dinner, a champagne dinner, National Macaron Day deals, and two events that support great causes.


Tuesday, Mar. 17:

Food Truck Schedule: Here’s where to find your favorite meals-on-wheels this week  in Dallas.


St. Patrick’s Day: If you had enough green beer this weekend but still want to celebrate, check out this list.


Wednesday, Mar. 18:

Oak Cliff Cellars Wine Dinner: The winery will celebrate the release of its 2013 Rhone with the help of Stock & Barrel chef/owner Jon Stephens. The wine will be paired with a four-course dinner that includes a scallop crudo, crispy pork cheeks with cheddar grits, bacon-wrapped quail with a goat cheese gnocchi, and caramelized pear and huckleberry crisp with ice cream. Dinner starts at 6:30.


Savor Dallas: Toast of the Town Series: Wednesday through Sunday, enjoy fabulous menus prepared by locally and nationally acclaimed chefs paired with excellent selections of wine and cocktails at various hot spots around the city.


Thursday, Mar. 19:

Culinary for Community: Whole Foods Lakewood will host the Lakewood Service League Benefit with Times Ten Cellars beginning at 6pm. All proceeds benefit Lakewood Service League. Food will be provided by the Whole Foods Market catering department and wine will be provided by Times Ten.


Savor Dallas: Arts District Wine Stroll: Kick off the Savor Dallas festival amidst the nation’s largest contiguous urban arts district. Embrace art while sampling tastings from local vendors including Hypnotic Donuts, Dallas Farmer’s Market, Kate Weiser Chocolate and more along with fine wine and spirits.


Friday, Mar. 20:

Goerg Dinner at Grace: Enjoy a five-course dinner by Chef Blaine and featuring Paul Goerg Champagnes.


National Macaron Day: Celebrate with contests and free macarons at Bisous Bisous Patisserie and get a free macaron with every dozen purchased at Haute Sweets Patisserie.


Savor Dallas: Savor the Arboretum: Mingle with chefs and explore the gardens while savoring fine spirits and wines as well as food from local restaurants like Empire Baking Company, Malai Kitchen, Terrelli’s and more.


Saturday, Mar. 21:

Drink Local, Give Global: Deep Ellum Brewing Company will do its part to raise awareness about the importance of fresh water when they hosts Ten for 10‘s event beginning at 3:30pm for World Water Day 2015. Ticket proceeds go toward providing clean water in Rwanda and include tastings, a tour, live music and more.


Savor Dallas: Grand Tasting: The main event takes place at Centennial Hall at Fair Park. Star chefs and culinary artisans offer tastes of signature cuisine paired with sips from winemakers, distilleries and breweries. There will also be interactive experiences, live music and more.


Sunday, Mar. 22:

Savor Dallas: Community Brunch: This “Sunday Funday” event will include mimosas, bloody mary’s, and all the brunch faves in Main Street Garden. Food will be prepared and served by Cafe Momentum along with tastes from the Joule HotelWild Salsa and others.



BGR: The Burger Joint: The “unofficial” Facebook page predicts a June opening of the fast-casual spot at 3001 Knox Street.


Buzzbrews: The late-night restaurant will open in the former location of The Mecca at Skillman and Live Oak in March. Victory Park is also expected to get a location next year.


Crisp Salad Co.: The Shops at Park Lane is expected to get a the second location of the salad restaurant, currently serving on Lower Greenville.


East Hampton Sandwich Co.: The fourth location of the sandwich restaurant will open in Turtle Creek Village on Oak Lawn in June.


Mash’d: The moonshine-loving restaurant, now in Frisco, will open a second location in Fort Worth’s West 7th district.


Rex’s Seafood Market: The newest location is set to open in May in Lakewood at Mockingbird and Abrams.


Spork: The roadside eatery in North Dallas opened last week with offerings like burgers, salads, sandwiches, cocktails, shakes and malts.


Standard Pour Menu: The spring dinner and bar menus at the McKinney Avenue bar and restaurant will be released Monday, March 23.
