This week’s events are all about beer and wine paired with delicious dinners. Also, don’t miss a grand opening and the announcement of important area closings.


Tuesday, April 21:

Lakewood Brewing Hopochondira Pint Night: Cane Rosso Deep Ellum invites you to try Lakewood Brewing Co.’s newest IPA and keep the special can-shaped glass when you do. Supplies are limited.


Wednesday, April 22:

California Red Wine Tasting: Join The Dean’s List for a tasting got six California red wines.


Dogfish Head Beer Dinner: Meddlesome Moth will host the founder of the brewery, Sam Calagione, for a night of good food and craft beer.


Thursday, April 23:

A Community Cooks: Farm-fresh food meets top executive chefs meets community involvement at this event held at WE Over Me Farm at Paul Quinn College. Head over for food, drink, live music and dancing. All proceeds will go to WE Over Me Farm.


Spring Wine Dinner: Max’s Wine Dive Fort Worth will host a wine-paired, five-course meal featuring Chef Stefon’s favorite spring foods.


Lakewood Brewing Co. Dinner: Craft beer and Texas food will be at Grain beginning at 6:30pm. The beer-paired menu includes a braised quail cake, candied goat cheese salad, espresso and Temptress-braied short ribs, and coriander, vanilla bean, and lager poached pears.


Friday, April 24:

Big D BBQ Battle: The North Dallas Chamber of Commerce invites you to celebrate springtime with brisket, beer, and a band at the Valley View Center. The event benefits North Texas Food Bank and Cafe Momentum.


Grapevine Craft Brewery Beer Dinner: Cook Hall presents a four-course, craft beer-paired dinner featuring tres vaso’s ceviche, corn-goat cheese soup, spice rub New York strip, and churros.


Saturday, April 25:

Texas Ale Project Grand Opening: The newest brewery to lay roots in the Dallas Design District will host its Grand Opening beginning at 2pm for VIP’s. T.A.P. will tap four of their brews and there will be live music, a Texas big hair and mustache competition, and food trucks.



Blue Bell: If you haven’t heard, Blue Bell Creameries has recalled all of its products across the country due to positive tests for listeria.


Carnival Barker’s Ice Creams: After success at the Truck Yard, Carnival Barker’s will open a second location in Oak Cliff in mid-May. Get ready for homemade vanilla extract and Pop Tart ice cream sandwiches plus chili and Frito pie.


J. Black’s Feel Good Kitchen & Lounge: The Henderson Ave. bar that’s been open for five years will close its doors on May 2. The last two days of operation will feature “clear the shelves” drink specials.


Madrina: Authentic Mexican food will get a French twist when this new fine dining restaurant opens in The Shops at Highland Park this summer. The owners currently run successful concepts Proof+Pantry and Driftwood.


Old Warsaw: The Uptown restaurant will close its doors after more than 30 years in its current location. A 14-story office building will take its place.


Yucatan Taco Stand: The Fort Worth-based taco chain has opened its newest location on Greenville Ave.
