Dallas Observer Iron Fork: Two top chefs will compete against each other to create winning dishes from a basket of mystery ingredients. The event also includes tastings from local restaurants and will be held at Centennial Hall at Fair Park.


The Hospitality Sweet 2 Year Anniversary: The downtown eatery celebrates two years of delicious treats with the launch of a new menu, free mini cupcakes and giveaways during lunch.


Thursday, April 30

Craft Beer and Artisan Cheese Pairing: Lakewood Brewing Company will host cheesemonger Ali Morgan from Rare Edibles for a night that will feature 4 of the company’s select craft brews paired with complimentary and contrasting cheeses- so that’s 4 beers and 8 cheeses for $30.


Mayfest 2015: You’re sure to find plenty of fried, fast, sweet, festival food at this family-friendly Fort Worth event. It goes through May 3, so you have time to get your fill.


Friday, May 1:

The Brew Mile: Running and beer goes together like…? While this may not be the most common combo, it promises to be a fun one at this event. Run a quarter mile, drink a beer, repeat.


Saturday, May 2:

Asian Festival 2015: The 25th year of this event is sure to be a big one. Dive into Asian food and culture at Klyde Warren Park.


Cinco de Mayo Parade & Festival: The Oak Cliff Cultural Center invites you to celebrate the holiday a few days early with a parade, marching bands, food vendors and more.


GrillFest 2015: Join D Magazine and The Shops at Park Lane for a tasting of grilled food accompanied by summer wines and beers and live music. All food will be prepared by local chefs and all proceeds go to the North Texas Food Bank.


4th Annual Jockeys & Juleps Derby Party: Sissy’s Southern Kitchen will host a live viewing of the race along with a costume competition with prizes from 3 to 6pm.


Sunday, May 3:

Taste of the NFL Ultimate Cowboys Tailgate Party: How does good food for a good cause with a splash of NFL royalty sound? The 11th annual event will feature gourmet tailgate fare, signature cocktails, live entertainment, live and silent auctions, games and more. It will be held at AT&T Stadium and will benefit the North Texas Food Bank.


Kitchen LTO Finalist Cook-Off: It’s time to vote in the newest chef and artist to take over the permanent pop-up in Trinity Groves. As a participant, you’ll be able to taste-test the new chefs, review proposed artwork, grill the contestants, have a drink or two, and decide who wins.



Bouchon 1314: This wine bar is set to open in Oak Cliff in the next few weeks.


Gino’s East: The Chicago-based pizzeria will open in Arlington on May 4.

Plāt: A same-day grocery delivery service will debut next month. To start, it will serve Dallas, Irving, Las Colinas, Richardson, and Addison. Delivery is free with a minimum $35 order.


Revolver Taco Lounge: Fort Worth’s taco shop will close after then end of its lease on June 30.
