Reunion Lawn Party
Plenty of fun to get into this weekend — listen to live music at the Dallas Arboretum, Christmas shop in the Bishop Arts District or have fun at a free lawn party! Get the details for those events and more below.


Thursday, July 23

Evening in the Shed: Occurring every Thursday evening in the month of July, Dallas Farmer’s Market will host an Evening in the Shed. Guests will have the opportunity to shop the market for everything local, including arts and crafts, fresh produce and artisan food. Beer, wine and live music will also be in attendance. Visit the calendar to get the scoop on who’s performing every Thursday. 4-9 p.m.


Friday, July 24

Garden Gigs: For the first time ever, the Dallas Arboretum will host a full-grounds musical event open to the general public. Local artists/musicians Salim Nourallah; duo John Lefler and Camille Cortinas; Kaela Sinclair; and Sudie perform intimate sets at sundown throughout the gardens. Guests can purchase dinner and snacks from popular DFW food trucks or bring their own picnics and beverages. 7:30-9:30 p.m. Purchase tickets here.


Friday Night Fireworks: Travel over to Grapevine and watch the skies light up with colorful sparks. This 12-minute show is accompanied by exciting music, which is available for download here. Try to set up shop on the rooftop of the Gaylord Texan’s parking garage — it has the best view and features a DJ with plenty of music. 9:30 p.m.


Saturday, July 25

Christmas in July: Head over to the Bishop Arts District for amazing deals on holiday and regular merchandise. Many restaurants will have special features and plenty of fun on the streets. This year promises tons of festive holiday fun for the whole family, plus there’s a 100 percent chance of snow in the forecast! 6 p.m.


Reunion Lawn Party: Have fun at a free lawn party near the base of Reunion Tower with food trucks, lawn games, and a beer garden featuring craft beers from local breweries. Enjoy live music from Prophets and Outlaws, taking the stage around 8:15 p.m. FREE. 6:30-10:30 p.m.


Shakespeare in the ParkShakespeare Dallas is back for another season of the wildly acclaimed Shakespeare in the Park. Catch the timeless classic — Romeo and Juliet — at the Samuel Grand Amphitheatre. Go early to set up your lawn chairs and lay your blanket down, and don’t forget the bug spray! Tickets start at $7. 8:15 p.m.


Sunday, July 26

Sunday Funday: The new laid back and family-friendly summer series will take place on the banks of, and in, the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. It will feature tubing, craft beer from Panther Island Brewing, paddle sports, Stand Up Paddleboard yoga, disc golf and more. FREE admission. $5 tube rentals. 12-6 p.m.


Basically Beethoven Festival: Fine Arts Chamber Players presents the 35th annual Basically Beethoven Festival Sunday afternoons in July. These free performances start at 2:30 p.m. with a pre-concert Rising Star Recital showcasing young music artists and competition winners. At 3 p.m., the chamber music performances begin, featuring professional musicians from the Dallas & Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras, The Dallas Opera Orchestra, and area university faculties members. FREE.


Salsa & Sangria Sundays: Enjoy sangria and live salsa music on Saint Ann’s patio, located in the Harwood District of downtown Dallas. 7-10 p.m.
