DFW is offering tons of fun this weekend! Be sure to cheer on your blondes and brunettes at Dallas’ annual BvB powderpuff game, then indulge in brews, grooves and more! Get the details below:

 

Thursday, August 6

Evening in the Shed: Occurring every Thursday evening in the month of July, Dallas Farmer’s Market will host an Evening in the Shed. Guests will have the opportunity to shop the market for everything local, including arts and crafts, fresh produce and artisan food. Beer, wine and live music will also be in attendance. Visit the calendar to get the scoop on who’s performing every Thursday. 4-9 p.m.

 

Friday, August 7

San Jacinto Plaza Music Series: Enjoy live music Friday and Saturday evenings in Downtown Rockwall’s newest public space, San Jacinto Plaza. Café style tables and chairs as well as seat walls fill the space. Guests are welcome to bring chairs, food and beverages. This Friday, catch the soulful blues tunes of the Paul Harrington Band.

 

Friday Night Fireworks: Travel over to Grapevine and watch the skies light up with colorful sparks. This FREE 12-minute show is accompanied by exciting music, which is available for download here. Try to set up shop on the rooftop of the Gaylord Texan’s parking garage — it has the best view and features a DJ with plenty of music. 9:30 p.m.

 

Saturday, August 8

Brunch & Bazaar: Travel to Fort Worth’s Riverside Arts District to experience live music, local food, handmade products, and art at the Race Street Market. FREE. 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 

Local Brews, Local Grooves: Deemed one of the ultimate festivals to attend, Dallas’ House of Blues will be hosting its annual craft beer and music festival, featuring local Texas breweries, bands and tasty food. 3 p.m. Purchase tickets here.

 

BvB Powderpuff Game: Ebby Halliday Realtors is proud to once again be a Platinum Sponsor of Blondes vs. Brunettes Dallas, a powder-puff football game benefiting the Baylor AT&T Memory Center and the Center for Vital Longevity at The University of Texas at Dallas. The 8th-annual game takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park. Each $25 donation gets you into the game and after-party, featuring Empire 6. Sunday, August 9

Sunday Funday: The new laid back and family-friendly summer series will take place on the banks of, and in, the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. It will feature tubing, craft beer from Panther Island Brewing, paddle sports, Stand Up Paddleboard yoga, disc golf and more. FREE admission. $5 tube rentals. 12-6 p.m.

 

Salsa & Sangria Sundays: Enjoy sangria and live salsa music on Saint Ann’s patio, located in the Harwood District of downtown Dallas. 7-10 p.m.

 

August Happenings

August Dollar Days: Presented by Time Warner Cable, the Dallas Arboretum offers $1 general admission and $2 Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden admission to all guests for the month of August. There will also be $1 and $2 food and drink items, including hot dogs, juice boxes, root beer floats and more. Purchase tickets at gate only
