State Fair of Texas: Aside from concerts, rides and unique shows, this year’s fair promises fried food goodness. Friday, October 2

Burgers and Burgundy: Visit the home of Karen and Bill Seanor for an evening of dining and dancing while chef John Tesar and his team of celebrity chefs grill signature sliders paired with savory wines. All proceeds benefit DIFFA Dallas, which raises funds for organizations fighting HIV/AIDS. Tickets begin at $85/person, and the event starts at 6:30 p.m.


Taste of the Anatole: Celebrate international wine, cuisine and music at this three-day event, featuring hands-on activities like interactive cooking demonstrations, pairing and blending classes, blind tastings and more.
