Tornado Relief Efforts – How to Help

In addition to the continued community relief efforts for those affected by the recent tornadoes, Home Team Insurance and Nations Home Warranty are offering ways to lend a hand.

2016 Colors of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity

The color experts at Pantone recently revealed their choice for Color of the Year for 2016. And, to our surprise, they chose TWO – Rose Quartz and Serenity. Expect to see these colors make serious statements in the fashion and home industries.

“Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Shay Geyer of IBB Design Fine Furnishings shows us sophisticated ways to incorporate these color trends into our home.

An Enduring Legacy

An Enduring Legacy

As we near the end of another year, we’d like to pause to reflect on the significance of 2015, the year that marked the passing of our company’s founder, Ebby Halliday.

Ebby was 104, but knowing her passing was imminent didn’t make it any easier. Throughout her life Ebby illuminated everything she touched, everything she said and everything she did. In the meantime, she brought light to each of our lives.

In the few months since she left us the spirit of her companies has been unwavering. Those of us fortunate enough to be part of the Ebby Halliday Companies have witnessed a sense of solidarity – a united front – that seems to run from the agent level right to the top. Simply put, the Ebby Halliday Companies are stronger than they have ever been.

The pride is palpable; it’s invigorating to be a part of Ebby’s legacy. And, truth be told, Ebby would be so proud of each and every one of us and how we’ve faired these past few months without her.

In 1945, Ebby Halliday founded her namesake company on three principles of service. As we enter 2016, that company is one the most-admired in America and more committed than ever to honor her legacy through exemplary service to our clients, our industry and the North Texas community.

6 of Dallas’ Best Holiday-Inspired Cocktails

Feeling festive yet? If not, head to one of these locally owned businesses for holiday spirits (pun intended) that are sure to bring tidings of joy.

1.  The Big Apple

Where to find it: Asador Restaurant

Why it’s so good: Think apple pie on Christmas morning. This well-kept secret inside the Renaissance Dallas Hotel makes the apple cinnamon syrup used in this cocktail, which is sure to warm you up.

2.  Chocolate Eggnog Martini

Where to find it: Del Frisco’s Grille in Uptown

Why it’s so good: Chocolate vodka and eggnog — enough said.

3.  Adult Apple Pie

Where to find it: Kenny’s Burger Joint (both Frisco and Plano locations)

Why it’s so good: Kenny’s deems it an adult “milkshake.” With apple pie filling, cinnamon, ice cream and a graham cracker rim, you can see why.

4.  John’s Remedy

Where to find it: Origin Kitchen + Bar

Why it’s so good: This establishment used to serve only grab-and-go meals, but recently reopened to include a bar. This beverage is a simple warm drink, made with Irish whiskey, cherry liqueur and Chinese bitters.

5.  G’s Punch

Where to find it: Joyce and Gigi’s

Why it’s so good: Nothing says the holidays quite like punch. This one from an East Dallas gem includes peaches, cinnamon and orange zest bitters.

6.  Black Mission-Fig Infused Cognac

Where to find it: The Mermaid Bar – Neiman Marcus (NorthPark Center)

Why it’s so good: Heavy cream, figs, nectar and nutmeg make this drink a holiday-infused delight.
