Great news for Texas homeowners looking to remodel or uprade – everything from air conditioner units to compact fluorescent light bulbs will be sold tax-free over Memorial Day weekend May 23-25. To qualify for the tax-free offer, products must be Energy Star-qualified.
According to the state comptroller’s office, the tax-free weekend includes:
â€¢ Air conditioners priced under $6,000 (both room and central units)
â€¢ Washing machines
â€¢ Ceiling fans
â€¢ Light bulbs (incandescent and fluorescent)
â€¢ Programmable thermostats
â€¢ Refrigerators priced under $2,000.
