Members of the Ebby Halliday Realtors family recently delivered toys and gifts for the excited and deserving students at Ebby Halliday Elementary School.

 

The gifts were handpicked with care by Ebby employees based on the wish lists of the children. Gifts ranged from clothing and dolls to Legos, sports gear and flashcards.

Ebby’s namesake school is a multi-cultural community of parents, stakeholders and staff in the Dallas Independent School District dedicated to the development of a respectful and supporting learning environment.

 

Ebby, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 104, believed strongly in the value of education. As a child, she attended a one-room schoolhouse. Through education, perseverance and just plain hard work – and the ever-growing and accomplished team she assembled around her – Ebby went on to create what is today America’s 12th-largest residential real estate company by sales volume.

In her book, “Ebby Halliday: The First Lady of Real Estate” by Michael Poss, Ebby advised readers to “Make the most of opportunities to learn. Go to college, take special courses, read, listen, observe, and get out there and participate.”

 

Ebby’s advice remains sage for young students like those at Ebby Halliday Elementary and older ones alike. At Ebby Halliday Elementary, students are challenged each and every day to reach their full potential as responsible individuals.

The Ebby Halliday Family of Companies was extremely well represented at this week’s MetroTex Association of Realtors Annual Installation & Awards Ceremony.

 

Carrie Hill of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s InTown Office was presented the Ebby Halliday Community Service Award and was a finalist for the Lois Hair Bernays Award. The Ebby Halliday Community Service Award, named for the founder of Ebby Halliday Realtors, recognizes an individual who has made a significant impact to the community by donating time, money, and/or material goods to a program that improves the livability of a local community and is suitable as a role model for all real estate professionals. The Lois Hair Bernays Award is presented annually to a Realtor who exemplifies the highest qualities of the real estate profession. Finalists for the 2018 Lois Hair Bernays Award also included Anna Hudson of Ebby’s Irving | Las Colinas | Coppell Office.

One of the surest signs of a great company is longtime employees, or in our case, sales associates and staff members. The Ebby Halliday Companies are fortunate to have countless individuals who have been with our firm for many years and each year we take the time to honor those who have reached their 25th Anniversary.

 

Recently, longtime members of the Ebby Halliday family received the 25-Year Pin at an afternoon tea honoring their significant contributions to the company. In addition to the honorees, this special event was attended by President and CEO Chris Kelly, Chief Financial Officer Ron Burgert, Executive Vice President and Director of Sales Offices Betty Misko, Vice President and Director of Marketing Randall Graham and Chairman Emeritus Mary Frances Burleson.

Frisco Office Supports Scottish Rite for Children


 

Frisco Office Support Texas Scottish Rite

 

Members of Ebby’s Frisco Office recently presented a check for $92,000 to representatives of Texas Scottish Rite for Children. The check represents the proceeds of the office’s 10th-Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held September 25. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the event benefit Texas Scottish Rite for Children in Frisco, a new ambulatory care center at the corner of Lebanon Road and the Dallas North Tollway.

 

“We are so incredibly pleased with the event and the results of this year’s charity golf tournament,” says Kristi Davis, sales manager of Ebby’s Frisco Office. “We’re proud to support Texas Scottish Rite for Children, and help aid in the care of children in Frisco and beyond.”

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children cares for children with orthopedic conditions, such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand disorders, hip disorders and limb length differences, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders such as dyslexia, regardless of the family’s ability to pay.

Jackson-Thomas to Lead Cedar Creek Lake Office


Natalie Jackson-Thomas Named Manager of Ebby’s Cedar Creek Lake Office

 

Ebby Halliday Realtors has appointed Natalie Jackson-Thomas sales manager of its Cedar Creek Lake Office. Chris Kelly, president and chief executive officer, recently made the announcement.

 

“Natalie brings a thorough understanding of all aspects of real estate, from marketing and lead generation to working effectively with clients through closing and beyond,” Kelly says. “Natalie truly appreciates the wide-ranging educational opportunities available to new and seasoned agents at the Ebby Halliday Companies.”

 

Jackson-Thomas will report to Malinda Howell, regional vice president and former co-manager of Ebby’s Cedar Creek Lake Office.

 

“Natalie joined Ebby’s Cedar Creek Lake Office as a sales associate because of our company’s stellar reputation, its exceptional training opportunities and the ongoing support we offer agents,” Howell says. “She believed Ebby Halliday was a place she could grow professionally and she has certainly done that. I am confident her background as an Ebby sales associate will benefit our Cedar Creek Lake Office in many ways.”

 

A longtime North Texan, Jackson-Thomas has been a Realtor since 2003 and a Cedar Creek Lake-area resident for the past three years. She enjoys the everyday challenges and celebrations that working in residential real estate brings.

 

“I love the variety involved in my real estate career,” Jackson-Thomas says. “One of the reasons I chose Ebby is the company’s appreciation for both new-agent education and continuing education for seasoned agents. The Ebby Halliday Companies, the No. 1 residential real estate firm in Texas by sales volume, announced today that the company has expanded its leadership structure to include two regional vice presidents. Carolyn Rosson, sales manager of the Southlake Office, and Malinda Howell, sales manager of the 190 – Richardson Office, have been named regional vice presidents. Rosson and Howell will report to President and CEO Chris Kelly.

 

“Carolyn and Malinda, both respected leaders in the residential real estate industry, will assist and support our sales managers across the North Texas region, as well as our core services, in delivering a remarkable experience to our clients and sales associates,” Kelly said. “Both Malinda and Carolyn have demonstrated exceptional leadership over the years and we are very happy to have them in positions where they can mentor and assist a wider range of sales managers and associates.”

 

Rosson, an industry leader on the local, state and national levels, has created top-producing offices for 25 years by focusing on building a dynamic culture. Rosson began her sales management career in the Las Colinas market and in 2008 became the manager of Ebby’s Southlake Office. She has served on the board of directors of the MetroTex Association of Realtors and as regional vice president of the Texas Association of Realtors. Rosson is Maestro Leadership-certified by Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.

 

Howell began her real estate career with Ebby Halliday in 1998. Also, an industry leader on the local, state and national levels, she possesses a vast knowledge of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and has long served as a mentor to new and experienced real estate agents, as well as new sales managers. Howell is a member of the board of directors of the Texas Association of Realtors and has served as chairwoman of the political action committee for MetroTex Association of Realtors. The Ebby Halliday Companies announced today that Chris Kelly has been named chief executive officer. Mary Frances Burleson, longtime president and CEO, will now focus on the Ebby Halliday Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to honor the legacy and philanthropic commitment of the company’s namesake, Ebby Halliday. Ebby Halliday Companies is owned by HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate and the nation’s second-largest residential real estate brokerage company.

Kelly joined ReeceNichols Real Estate, HomeServices’ wholly-owned company based in Kansas City, in 2007 and served as corporate legal counsel before being promoted to chief administrative officer of ReeceNichols Real Estate, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Kansas City Realty, Kansas City Title and its other affiliated businesses and services in 2013.
