Join Our Veterans to Realtors Program

Cheerful military mom is reunited with adorable daughter

The Ebby Halliday Companies, which include Dallas-based Ebby Halliday Realtors and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Fort Worth-based Williams Trew, know that Veterans are highly disciplined, hardworking, team-oriented and accustomed to overcoming obstacles – all skills that translate well to the real estate profession.

This, combined with the fact that Veterans often face challenges re-entering the workforce after servng our country, is why the Ebby Halliday Companies have implemented the Veterans to Realtors program. The program eases the transition into the real estate profession for our valued Veterans.

“If you live in the North Texas region, and have served in any branch of the military, then you could be qualified for our Veterans to Realtors program,” says Chris Kelly, president and CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies. “If you are able to make a commitment to real estate and are accepted to the program, we will pay your fee at our company school, and you will receive a $500 reimbursement after your first closing.

“We also recognize that military service is a shared duty and sacrifice for the entire family,” says Kelly. “We are proud to also provide this program to any spouse of an active or reserve-duty military service member.”

When you join the Ebby Halliday Companies team, you join a company with a proven track record in the North Texas region for over 70 years. Happy Hill Farm Choir Spreads Holiday Cheer

960 hero shot

Members of the Ebby Halliday Companies Home Office recently enjoyed a visit from the Happy Hill Farm Choir. Each year during December, the choir makes the rounds to spread holiday cheer to the farm’s corporate supporters. The multi-talented choir treated the Home Office audience to spirited renditions of holiday songs.

“The Ebby Home Office team always looks forward to its annual visit from the Happy Hill Choir,” says Chris Kelly, president and CEO of Ebby Halliday Companies. “Over the years, the farm has helped so many young people grow into happy, productive adults. We are thrilled to be a part of that effort.”

Happy Hill Farm is a 500-acre farm that is home to North Central Texas Academy, an independent, accredited, coeducational and interdenominational college-preparatory day, boarding and international school near Granbury. Boys and girls ages 5 to 18 live, work and study at Happy Hill Farm, which accepts no federal or state funding.

Traditionally, more than 90% of North Central Texas Academy’s budget has come from donations within the private community from caring individuals, corporations and foundations. The Academy seeks out underserved students and provides scholarships in order that these highly motivated boys and girls receive the opportunity to learn, commit, grow, and eventually assume positions of responsibility and leadership in society.

For many years Happy Hill Farm has been near and dear to the Ebby Halliday Companies. The Ebby Halliday Library is located at Happy Hill’s academic complex.

The Ebby Halliday Companies includes real estate brands Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew, as well as core-services companies Prosperity Mortgage, Home Team Insurance and Texas Premier Title.

Now in its fifth year, the publication is the culmination of months of research by the editors of D CEO, who base selections on extensive contacts in local business circles and hundreds of interviews.

Unprecedented in scope, the Dallas 500 provides an engaging, personal look at people at the top of their game in 53 prominent industries. For 2020, 336 of last year’s Dallas 500 were brought back, including Mark Cuban, Ross Perot Jr., Lyda Hill, and Jerry Jones. That means 164 new individuals were added, including Kelly, who became president and CEO of Ebby Halliday in November 2018.

The opportunity to help lead this iconic company to its next level of growth and performance is both humbling and exciting.”

Curt Kastan Named Sales Leader of Preston Plano Parkway Office

Curt Kastan Named Sales Leader of Ebby’s Preston Plano Parkway Office

Ebby Halliday Realtors has appointed Curt Kastan sales leader of its Preston Plano Parkway Office. Chris Kelly, president and chief executive officer, recently made the announcement.

“Curt, who most recently served as sales director at another area brokerage, brings a thorough understanding of all aspects of real estate, from marketing and lead generation to working effectively with clients through closing and beyond,” Kelly says. “Curt truly appreciates the wide-ranging educational opportunities and the industry-leading technology available to agents at Ebby Halliday Realtors.”

A third-generation real estate sales professional, Kastan literally grew up in the business. His grandparents owned a boutique brokerage on the beach in Ventura, Calif., and his mother was a top-producing luxury agent. Kastan followed in their footsteps, becoming licensed in 2000 and, by building on his family’s knowledge and experience, enjoyed early and sustained success.

“With over 20 years of experience, Curt brings real-world knowledge to the role of sales leader,” Kelly says. “He possesses keen marketing and transactional knowledge, luxury property expertise, a tireless work ethic, genuine integrity and a positive outlook. Most important, Curt is thrilled to be joining Ebby’s Preston Plano Parkway family.”

Says Kastan, “When I moved to North Texas several years ago it didn’t take long to realize what an iconic brand Ebby Halliday is, and how widely admired the company and its agents are in the real estate industry and beyond. I couldn’t be more excited to join the Ebby team.”

A longtime agent whose transition into management was an organic one, Kastan says he is, at heart, a servant leader. “I always try to place myself in others’ ‘shoes.’ I never ask people to do things I haven’t done or am not prepared to do myself.”

Kastan says Ebby’s focus on education and technology sets the company apart. “We offer our Associates extensive educational opportunities, including frequent classes on the latest software and social-media platforms,” he says.

Kastan adds that while technology is increasingly important, relationships remain paramount in residential real estate.

“Our clients are making one of the largest – if not the largest – purchases of their lifetime so it’s imperative that we get to know them and develop strong working relationships,” he says. “I want our clients and agents to know that they can rely on me at all times.”

When he is not working, Kastan enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. His oldest daughter, Taylor, is a sales associate in Ebby’s Frisco Office.

“I am truly energized by my move to Ebby’s Preston Plano Parkway Office,” Kastan says. “I’m looking forward to continuing to build on our extraordinary success and growing the Ebby brand as Ebby Halliday Realtors approaches 75 years of serving North Texas.”

Bill Tucker Named Sales Leader of Frisco Office

Bill Tucker Named Sales Leader of Frisco Office

Ebby Halliday Realtors has appointed Bill Tucker sales leader of its Frisco Office. Chris Kelly, president and chief executive officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies, recently made the announcement.

“Bill brings extensive sales and leadership experience, which includes having served as sales leader of our Preston Plano Parkway Office for the past 10 years,” Kelly says. “A recipient of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World’s prestigious Maestro Leadership certification, Bill is known for promoting a culture of professionalism, collaboration and high ethics.”

Says Tucker, “I am excited to use the leadership skills I have acquired to take our Frisco agents and office to even higher levels of performance. True leadership is helping others achieve beyond what they believe is possible.”

Tucker, who has been a resident of North Texas since 1996, says he is honored and humbled by the opportunity to lead Ebby’s Frisco Office. “As much as I have enjoyed being the sales leader of our Preston Plano Parkway Office, I am excited about the challenge of being at the helm of Ebby’s largest office.

“Having had the privilege of working for Ebby Halliday Realtors for 10 years now, I know many of our Frisco agents and have great respect for what they have achieved,” Tucker says. “I believe I have a firm understanding that it’s not about who is an office’s manager; rather, it’s about our agents. And, the bottom line is we have the right people in the right place, a remarkable group of agents who offer our valued clients an extraordinary level of service.”

Active in the North Texas community, Tucker is a member of the usher team at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation and serves on the Board of Directors of the Plano Symphony Orchestra. In his spare time, he enjoys jogging and cycling, as well as spending time at his wife Arla’s parents’ ranch in northern Arkansas.

“I am genuinely excited about my new position as sales leader of Ebby’s Frisco Office,” Tucker says. “My door will always be open for our agents and our valued clients will reap the benefits.”
