A Traditional Spin At One Arts Plaza
Everyone knows the beautiful Lionel Morrison designed One Arts Plaza building that has added the lighted box to the Downtown Dallas skyline. You’ve seen the the clean-line, museum-inspired living spaces and you may have even dined at one of the many great restaurants located in the building. But while you may appreciate contemporary architecture, maybe your personal home tends to lean more to the traditional side – your oriental rugs and treasured antiques just wouldn’t look right in such a modern environment. Or would they?
Recently, one of the units at One Arts Plaza was turned over to interior designer Ann Schooler to see just how accepting one of Dallas’ most chic contemporary buildings would be to traditional furnishings. The result was quite impressive – you can see for youself here. In fact, rumor has it that this particular unit might already be under contract.
If that’s not enough to peak your interest, don’t forget the One Arts Plaza neighborhood is really going to come to life in October when the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, comprised of four dramatic new venues and a ten-acre urban park, officially opens. Get a sneak peak of the new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts here.
So no matter your personal design taste, now is the perfect time to explore the possibilities of living in the Dallas Arts District, call one of our Associates to set up your tour today.
Blondes vs. Brunettes In The Name of Alzheimer s Research
If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday, consider the Second Annual Blondes vs. Brunettes Powder Puff Football Game, complete with celebrity coaches Pete Delkus and Dale Hansen of WFAA Channel 8. And the best part is it’s for a good cause – proceeds from the game benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Dallas Chapter.
The concept started nine years ago in Washington, D.C. by twins who lost their father to Alzheimer’s disease. It has since spread to Chicago, Houston, Austin and now Dallas. In fact, last year’s Dallas game raised more money than any other inaugural game. And this year’s game is also setting records – with a fundraising goal of $75,000, this game just passed the $100,000 donation mark today!
And we at The Ebby Halliday Companies are proud to have our very own Jenn Thompson of the Douglas Avenue Office serve a second year as quarterback for the Blondes!
