Shelly Nelson Named Recruiting Specialist

Shelly Nelson has been named Recruiting Specialist for the Ebby Halliday Companies. Chris Kelly, president and CEO, recently made the announcement. 

Ebby’s in-house recruiting is recognized among the best in the residential real estate industry. Former Director of Recruiting Merry Shuck will transition to a new role as Director of Market Expansion for the Ebby Halliday Companies.

Expansion Continues With Opening of Forney Office


The Ebby Halliday Companies have opened a new office in Forney. The office, located at 101 E. U.S. Highway 80, will serve fast-growing Kaufman County and the surrounding area.

Jason Bell Named Sales Leader of Irving/Las Colinas/Coppell Office


Jason Bell is the new sales leader of Ebby Halliday Realtors’ Irving | Las Colinas | Coppell Office. Bell will also continue in his role as sales leader of Ebby’s Flower Mound | Lewisville Office. Chris Kelly, president and chief executive officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies, and Carolyn Rosson, vice president of brokerage, recently made the announcement.

“We are thrilled Jason has accepted this additional responsibility and know he is absolutely the right person at the right time in just the right roles,” says Kelly. “Jason brings a thorough understanding of all aspects of real estate, from marketing and lead generation to working effectively with clients through closing and beyond.”

Bell succeeds Kim Nwachukwu as sales leader of Ebby’s Irving | Las Colinas | Coppell Office. Nwachukwu has chosen to return to serving clients as a full-time agent in the office Bell will lead.

With COVID-19 still wreaking havoc worldwide, July turned out to be a time to shine for clients like never before, and the agents of all three Ebby Halliday Companies brands — Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew — did. They helped family, friends, neighbors, past clients and new clients get out of homes that no longer worked for them and into ones that did. In its 75-year history, the company has not had another month quite like it: 2,000-plus transactions translated to $1 billion in sales volume.

It’s not surprising given the leadership style of the positive, patient, compassionate and strategic President & CEO Chris Kelly. Agents know they have in him a champion for their corner and have been emboldened to follow his lead.

“Really, really remarkable,” Kelly said, in a recent video call to the entire company. “This just doesn’t happen unless every single one of you are dedicated and getting the job done. Think back to three months ago, and imagine ‘we’re going to have the best month we’ve ever had in our 75-year history during a pandemic …’ It’s just unbelievable. Ebby’s Property Management Division on the Move

The hard-working team at Ebby’s Property Management Division has spent the past year increasing operational efficiencies, expanding its client base and creating opportunities for agents to grow their businesses. Ebby’s Property Management Division is responsible for the day-to-day management of hundreds of single-family homes, townhomes, duplexes and condominiums across North Texas. 

This week marks the one-year anniversary of Mayur Chudasama joining Ebby as director of the division and the changes he and his team have implemented have revolutionized property management at North Texas’ largest residential real estate brokerage.

“I want to thank everyone on our team and throughout the Ebby Halliday Companies for their support over the past year,” Mayur says. “It’s our honor to support the best agents in the business. Operational changes always bring their own set of challenges and I can’t express strongly enough how much we appreciate your support as we have grown our offerings and improved our services over the past year.”

Mayur says three areas of emphasis have been at the forefront since assuming his new role: operational efficiency, expansion and agent education.

Operational Efficiency

Under Mayur’s leadership, Ebby’s property-management clients are benefitting from increased efficiency through updated technology, including a new web-based platform. The division also recently launched a new website for property management. Everything from tenant applications to landlord statements can be accessed online.

Ebby’s Property Management Division is actively growing its partnerships with select third parties, adding convenience for clients and protection for landlords. Just a few examples include a utility concierge service, a pet-screening service for applicants, and an HVAC filter-delivery program.

Expansion

Within the first few months of assuming his new role, Mayur visited each Ebby Halliday Companies sales office to meet directly with agents and to highlight the division’s Property Management services. 

“I have really enjoyed getting to know our agents, whether in-person or virtually, and spending some time with them introducing and reinforcing the range of property-management services we offer,” Mayur says.

In the past year, Ebby’s Property Management Division has grown – and is actively growing – its footprint in North Texas. The division manages approximately 600 properties across the region.

Thirteen agents who focus almost exclusively on leasing and property management serve such cities as Dallas, Frisco, Plano, Arlington, Denton, Sherman and McKinney, among others. In addition to strong local and national connections, some of these professionals have also developed relationships with international clients, helping them find D-FW properties and manage those properties.

As the region grows, corporate suites and short-term leasing will present additional opportunities for future growth, Mayur says. To better serve these valued clients, Ebby’s Corporate Suites Division is now part of the Property Management Division.

Agent Education

Real estate is an ever-changing business and staying on the cutting edge is critical to a real estate professional’s success. Providing education and training is a top priority at the Ebby Halliday Companies.

Under Mayur’s leadership, Ebby’s Leasing class has been revamped. Any agent who wants to be involved in leasing is required to take the new class.

“In this ever-changing business, an agent who stays on the cutting edge through effective education is vitally important to his or her client, and ultimately to a successful transaction,” Mayur says. “Our in-house training programs are recognized as the best in the industry – and I’m proud to say that we offer our agents the highest referral fee possible – typically a half-month’s rent.” 

It’s been a busy year in Ebby’s Property Management Division and Mayur says the future is increasingly bright. 

“We want to expand our number of property managers and the number of properties we manage, all while maintaining the high standards we have set for ourselves and that our clients have come to expect,” he says. “We are grateful for the support we receive daily and are intensely focused on delivering our clients a world-class property-management experience.”

Tiffany Anderson Named McKinney Sales Leader

Tiffany Anderson has been named Sales Leader of Ebby Halliday Realtors’ McKinney OfficeChris Kelly, president and chief executive officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies, and Malinda Howell, vice president of brokerage, made the announcement earlier today.

A licensed residential real estate agent since 2003, Anderson was most recently an agent in Ebby’s Plano Office as well as the Agent Development Director for the company’s 190 – Richardson Office.

“Tiffany joined Ebby Halliday in 2010 and has built a successful real estate practice by consistently going above and beyond for clients,” Kelly says. Adds Howell, “Tiffany has also been an effective mentor for many of our agents. She has the perfect background and experience to fulfill this important role.”

Anderson succeeds Kathy Darrow, a respected industry veteran who has led Ebby’s McKinney Office for over nine years and was recently named Texas Referral Alliance Liaison and Contract and Transaction Advisor for the Ebby Halliday Companies. 

Raised in real estate, Anderson’s journey began as a small child observing her late grandmother as she worked as a professional agent. A natural problem solver, innovative and people-oriented, Tiffany followed in her grandmother’s footsteps. A successful business built on referrals is testament to the personal service and professionalism Tiffany has delivered throughout her career. 

A longtime agent whose transition into management has been an organic one, Anderson says she is, at heart, a servant leader. “I get a lot of joy from motivating people and I have always approached work as service. I want to serve our McKinney agents and the wonderful community I’m privileged to call home.” 

Anderson, who holds the Graduate, Realtor Institute designation, is a graduate of St. Edwards University and a resident of McKinney. She is an active community volunteer and is married with three boys who are themselves active in sports and the outdoors. She enjoys yoga, dancing, gardening, boating, biking and traveling, as well as playing sports with her boys and watching them play sports. 

“I couldn’t be more excited to take on this new role in Ebby’s McKinney Office,” says Anderson. “I consider it a new way to give back to the industry I love, and I am very much looking forward to using the professional skills I have developed to help new and established agents take their real estate careers to the next level.”
