Ebby Listings Among HGTV’s Ultimate House Hunt Finalists

Without even trying, you can easily sabotage an entire day’s to-do list by sitting down with “a little” HGTV, whether broadcast, magazine or social media. So many gorgeous homes, so many exotic locations, so much inspiration!

This year, five homes in North Texas have been chosen as HGTV’s 2021 Ultimate House Hunt finalists. And all five are under the Ebby Halliday Companies umbrella. Coincidence? Hardly. It’s more like … Connections!

Not just any home can be considered for the annual competition. To add an element of exclusivity, HGTV partners with Luxury Portfolio International, and only member-company properties are eligible for consideration.

You see, the Ebby Halliday Companies are a founding member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, a global network of 565 vetted firms with 130,000 sales associates able to share listings with prospects around the world. LPI is LeadingRE’s members-only luxury property marketing program. So only the best of the best make the cut (i.e., no chance that a ‘WTF Wednesday’ feature could accidentally be crowned winner).

There are eight categories of listings in the Ultimate House Hunt. The local 2021 finalists are:

  • Downtown Dwellings
    • Downtown Dallas Penthouse Swathed in Luxurious Neutral Tones – listed by Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate
  • Outdoor Escapes Category
    • Luxurious Texas Home is an Outdoor Wonderland – listed by Ebby Halliday (Sold)
  • Amazing Kitchens
    • Glam Kitchen Shines With Crystal Pendants – listed by Ebby Halliday (Sold)
  • Curb Appeal
    • Contemporary Curb Appeal With Clean Lines and Trailing Vines – listed by Williams Trew
  • Homes With a History
    • Texas Victorian With a Second-Story Ballroom – listed by Williams Trew

Voting takes place now through August 4, and you can vote daily for your favorites in each of the eight categories. After you vote, be sure to enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win $10,000!

If you’d like to say you live in an HGTV Ultimate House Hunt Finalist home, you better hurry. The two Ebby Halliday Realtors’ listings have already sold since the contest began. But three are still available and waiting to become the winner of your heart!

Having celebrated 75 years of service in 2020 to North Texans and those moving to the region, the Ebby Halliday Companies are No. 1 in Texas by sales volume. The Ebby Halliday Companies were acquired in 2018 by HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate and the country’s largest residential real estate company based on transactions in 2020.

The Ebby Halliday Companies’ real estate brands include Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew. Its core-services brands include Prosperity Home Mortgage, Home Team Insurance, Texas Premier Title and HSTX Title

Weekend Getaways: Waco

Sunrise on the Brazos

Known for the Baylor Bears, the Mammoth National Monument and far more than Magnolia, Waco is packed with friendly folks and the allure of farmhouse chic aesthetics. Only a short hour-and-a-half drive from Dallas-Fort Worth, the city packs small-town charm with a vibrant community of local businesses, a delightfully accessible downtown and no shortage of delicious fare and fun things to do.

Dine

milo all day

When you’re ready for lunch (or brunch!), look no further than Milo All Day, inspired Southern fare featuring seasonal ingredients from farms across Texas. The amazing patio makes for the perfect meal al fresco, and the laid-back atmosphere inside is as enticing as the flavorful farm-to-table dishes. This will be one of those meals you want to document for Instagram before taking your first bite.

Play

Wildland supply co

Another must on the list is Wildland Supply Co., a fun-yet-sophisticated clothing and lifestyle shop offering a modern, hand-selected collection of apparel and objects from independent designers and small-biz artisans. You’ll love the products and the aesthetic, almost as much as the stylish owner and friendly staff.

Stay

elegant container home

While there is no shortage of private rental options available in Waco, some properties offer a more unique stay than most. Whether you want to explore container living (shipping containers reimagined into tiny homes) or rent an entire home for the family (like a popular lakefront farmhouse 10 minutes from everything), vacation rentals provide the comforts of home with the adventure of exploring a new city.

Add Beauty & Value to Your Home

1_Braewood

25 Braewood Place | $6,750,000 | The O’Gorman Group

Trees don’t ask for much — dirt, water, sunlight. Yet they provide many benefits for you and your home: They add beauty and value to your property, cut your energy bills with the shade they provide, serve as a home to wildlife, and improve the air you breathe.

2_Waller

10121 Waller Drive | $5,950,000 | Mary Poss

To get the full benefits from your trees, choose the right one and plant it in the right location. Planting a tree that sheds its leaves annually on the west side of your house provides cooling shade in the summer. In winter, after it loses its leaves, the same tree will let in sunlight that cuts heating bills.

3_Point de Vue

1901 Point De Vue Drive | $2,900,000 | The O’Toole LeVan Group

If you’re planting a new tree, think about its fully grown size and shape before you dig. Roots too close to your home could damage the foundation or block sewer lines. The wrong tree in the wrong place could actually lower your home’s appraised value.

4_Valencia

2022 Valencia Cove | $2,695,000 | The Marcontell & Gilchrest Group
