Texas: Best State to Make a Living

Texas: Best State to Make a Living

The best place to make a living in the United States? That would be Texas, according to personal finance site MoneyRates.com’s just-released “10 Best and Worst Places to Make a living in 2015.”

Taking into account average wages, taxes, cost of living, unemployment, and workplace safety, the list ranked the 50 states by livability. Texas’ very low cost of living, slightly higher wages, low numbers of workplace safety incidents and no income tax put the Lone Star State on top.

Washington (No. 1 last year) took the No. 2 spot, followed by Wyoming, Virginia, Illinois, Michigan, Colorado, Delaware, Ohio, and Utah.
