Betsy Cameron Named Sales Leader of Ebby's Little White House

Ebby Halliday Realtors has appointed Betsy Cameron sales manager of its Ebby’s Little White House office. Chris Kelly, president and chief executive officer, recently made the announcement.

“A fourth-generation Dallasite with 15 years of real estate experience, Betsy brings proven leadership skills and industry expertise to our iconic Little White House Office at the corner of Northwest Highway and Preston Road,” Kelly says. “A natural teacher and mentor who has led other well-known local sales offices, we are very pleased that she has chosen to grow her real estate career with the Ebby Halliday Companies.”

Cameron is passionate about the residential real estate business and the professional relationships that she is privileged to enjoy.

“I am very relationship-driven,” Cameron says. “Relationships are at the heart of real estate, and I am excited about supporting and serving our Little White House agents. The most important thing for me is to understand how each operates so I can better serve them.”

She adds, “My leadership style is, ‘What can I do to help you?’ I want to help agents with networking and ensure that we all enjoy a culture that is collaborative.”

As a licensed real estate agent, Cameron became a trusted advisor for clients. She comes by her real estate savvy naturally as the daughter of Janis Wells, who has been in the business for many years. As a successful multimillion-dollar team, Betsy and Janis served clients ranging from families looking for their first and second homes, to out-of-state executives moving into the area.

As a sales leader, Cameron is a natural teacher and mentor. “I love to listen and understand how agents work and help them take their business to the next level,” Cameron says.

After graduating from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and prior to entering the real estate profession, Betsy taught at her alma mater, Highland Park High School.

Betsy is married to Brad Cameron and is the mother of two sons, one a student at Ole Miss and one at Highland Park High School. She is very involved with Dallas CASA, serving as anadvocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.

“I am truly excited about my move to Ebby Halliday Realtors and the future of Ebby’s Little White House Office,” Cameron says. “My door will always be open for my agents, and our valued clients will reap the benefits.”

An Enduring Legacy

An Enduring Legacy

As we near the end of another year, we’d like to pause to reflect on the significance of 2015, the year that marked the passing of our company’s founder, Ebby Halliday.

Ebby was 104, but knowing her passing was imminent didn’t make it any easier. Throughout her life Ebby illuminated everything she touched, everything she said and everything she did. In the meantime, she brought light to each of our lives.

In the few months since she left us the spirit of her companies has been unwavering. Those of us fortunate enough to be part of the Ebby Halliday Companies have witnessed a sense of solidarity – a united front – that seems to run from the agent level right to the top. Simply put, the Ebby Halliday Companies are stronger than they have ever been.

The pride is palpable; it’s invigorating to be a part of Ebby’s legacy. And, truth be told, Ebby would be so proud of each and every one of us and how we’ve faired these past few months without her.

In 1945, Ebby Halliday founded her namesake company on three principles of service. As we enter 2016, that company is one the most-admired in America and more committed than ever to honor her legacy through exemplary service to our clients, our industry and the North Texas community.

Ebby Halliday Acquires Williams Trew
Executive Vice President & Director of Sales Offices Betty Misko, Williams Trew Co-Founder Joan Trew, Chief Financial Officer Ron Burgert, Williams Trew Co-Founder Martha Williams, and President & CEO Mary Frances Burleson.

We are very excited to announce that Williams Trew Real Estate is now part of the Ebby Halliday Family of Companies. Williams Trew, Fort Worth’s leading residential real estate brokerage, was previously a Sotheby’s company. Below is the text of today’s full press release:

Dallas-based residential real estate brokerage Ebby Halliday Real Estate, Inc. announced today it has purchased Fort Worth-based luxury real estate boutique Williams Trew Real Estate. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Williams Trew, which was founded in 2000 by Martha Williams, Joan Trew and Marshall Boyd, will continue to be branded and conduct business under the name Williams Trew, an Ebby Halliday Real Estate Company and will continue to operate out of its current locations in Fort Worth. Ms. Williams and Ms. Trew will continue leadership roles with the company. Mr. Boyd will guide the transition and then pursue other existing business opportunities outside the company.

“Timing is everything, and the timing of this move meets current market needs and positions our company to better serve current and future residents of Fort Worth,” says President & CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies Mary Frances Burleson. “This acquisition brings together two like-minded companies with many years of residential real estate experience.”

Ron Burgert, chief financial officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies, adds, “We have built our company on several strategic moves in our almost 70 years in business and we believe this acquisition will help ensure our market position for many years to come. From a business standpoint, we are able to combine budgets, marketing and advertising in a more strategic and cost-effective manner.”

“We are pleased to join Ebby Halliday and believe this move significantly strengthens our leading position in the Fort Worth marketplace,” says Martha Williams of Williams Trew Real Estate. “As part of Ebby Halliday, our agents and sellers will have more resources without losing our company culture. Both our companies are privately held and customer-focused.”

Adds Joan Trew, “Their team has a proven record of integrity, service and client satisfaction. They also have a record of integrating acquisitions smoothly and without employee or market interruption. We like and respect their approach to the business of people.”

The acquisition is effective immediately. “We are already working on the transition,” says Williams Trew co-founder Marshall Boyd. “It will be seamless to our clients and our agents and sellers will not be impacted. We will increase our marketing and advertising strength and realize targeted cost efficiencies.”

With this transaction, Williams Trew becomes an Ebby Halliday Company and will no longer be affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty.

As an Ebby Halliday Company, Williams Trew and its Associates will benefit from the firm’s longtime affiliation with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, a global network of more than 500 premier real estate brokers, and its luxury division, Luxury Portfolio International. LeadingRE affiliates produce more annual home sales than any other real estate network, according to Ebby Halliday Companies Corporate Real Estate Services Director Karen Greene.

“Membership in Leading Real Estate Companies of the World is by invitation only and is limited to the very best residential real estate companies worldwide,” says Greene, “We take pride in offering our clients knowledgeable Associates who provide exceptional service. Simply put, Williams Trew and its Associates are a perfect fit for the Ebby Halliday Companies.”

The Ebby Halliday Companies includes Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, affiliated mortgage, insurance and title companies, and approximately 1,600 associates covering over 12,000 square miles of North Texas. It participated in more than 19,500 real estate transactions in 2013 with a sales volume of more than $6.4 billion. The Ebby Halliday Companies’ 13.5 percent share of the North Texas real estate market led all competitors, the nearest of which garnered 4.03 percent.

Independently owned and operated Ebby Halliday Realtors will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2015. Having grown from a one-woman office to the largest independent real estate company in Texas, the company has consistently maintained a focus on service to the community. In addition to its support of many North Texas charitable organizations, the Ebby Halliday Companies belong to 27 local chambers of commerce.

“At Ebby Halliday, we’re proud of our undisputed role as the dominant real estate firm in North Texas,” Burleson says. “While 2014 has certainly been an exceptional year for our company, what remains most important to us is service to our clients, service to our industry and service to our community. We welcome – and appreciate – the opportunity to partner with Fort Worth’s most respected real estate brokerage.”

Williams Trew Real Estate is Fort Worth’s leading residential real estate brokerage firm. With over 80 experienced agents the company provides home buyers and sellers with unparalleled experience in residential, farm & ranch, lake or urban properties in the greater Fort Worth area.

Housing Price Gains Smallest Since Last Summer

Housing Price Gains Smallest Since Last Summer

Dallas-area home prices rose at the slowest rate in 10 months, according to the just-released Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller Home Price Index.

Dallas prices were up 8.6 percent in May from a year ago. Nationwide, prices rose 9.4 percent in the same period.

The lower home price gains had been predicted by analysts who see some moderation after many months of double-digit price increases. Eighteen of the 20 cities Case-Shiller surveys had lower gains in May than in April.

Dallas’ increase was the smallest since July of last year. Earlier this year local home prices were growing at more than 10 percent from a year ago.

The largest annual gains in May were in Las Vegas, 16.9 percent, and San Francisco, 15.4 percent. The smallest increase was in Cleveland, 2.4 percent.

Dallas-area home prices are now at a record level – up more than 9 percent from where they were before the recession. And prices here are almost 25 percent ahead of where they were at the worst of the economic downturn in 2009. Dallas-area prices have been rising in the Case-Shiller study for more than 24 months.

post

Ebby Halliday Realtors has appointed Keith Newman sales manager of the Ebby’s Little White House Office at the corner of Northwest Highway and Preston Road in Dallas. Mary Frances Burleson, president and chief executive officer, recently made the announcement.

“Keith brings extensive real estate sales experience, as well as a strong desire to assist our Little White House agents in taking their careers to the next level,” Burleson says. “Intensely focused on education, marketing and exemplary service to clients, Keith truly appreciates the wide-ranging educational opportunities available to new and seasoned agents at Ebby Halliday.”

Newman, who most recently served as sales manager of the company’s Plano/Willow Bend Office, will report to Betty Misko, executive vice president and director of sales offices.

“Recognized as a Top Producer at his previous brokerage and an accomplished manager of Ebby’s Plano/Willow Bend Office, Keith has been an extremely effective mentor to other agents,” Misko says. “I am confident his background will benefit Ebby’s Little White House in many ways.”

A native of Dallas, Newman has been in real estate sales since 2001 and has extensive experience representing buyers and sellers in a variety of Dallas neighborhoods. Recognized as a D Best Realtor multiple times by D magazine, he enjoys exploring new and innovative ways to be successful in real estate.

“I am passionate about technology, particularly mobile technology and the opportunities it offers today’s buyers and sellers,” Newman says.

“One of the reasons I chose Ebby Halliday Realtors is the company’s appreciation for both new-agent education and continuing education for seasoned agents,” Newman says. “I really look forward to helping our Little White House Associates take their business to the next level.”

Ebby Halliday’s affiliation with Luxury Portfolio International, the luxury division of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World — the largest global network of premier independent luxury brokerages — is another reason Newman chose Ebby Halliday.

“Luxury Portfolio markets many of the world’s most remarkable homes,” Newman says. “We are unmatched in the global arena with properties in 30 countries, website visitors from more than 200 countries/territories each month, site translation in nine languages, and an inventory of properties totaling more than $44 billion with an average price of more than $2.6 million.

“I am truly excited about my move to Ebby’s Little White House,” Newman says. “My door will always be open for the agents, and our valued clients will reap the benefits.”
