This Week in Food & Beverage News: Stonedeck Pizza Pub

If you’re a fan of rosé, local beer, or tequila, we’ve got wonderful paired dinners for you to try this week! Plus, a get your tickets for TEXSOM, join LYFE Kitchen at its three grand openings, and check out Deep Ellum’s newest pizza place.

 

Events: 

Keep-The-Pint Night: In the first of their two events this week, Rabbit Hole Brewing is joining up with Luck tonight, Tuesday, July 29, for a pint night, tap takeover, and live music.

 

Keep the Growler Night: Wednesday, July 30, Rabbit Hole Brewing and Craft and Growler are running a deal on Rabbit Hole growlers. Fill a special Rabbit Hole growler and keep it for a new low price.

 

LYFE Kitchen: We reported a few months ago that this gluten-free restaurant, “Love Your Food Everyday,” would open three locations this summer. Well, Wednesday night marks the grand opening of all three- Plano Park, Preston Center, and West Village. There will be complimentary food and drinks starting at 7pm.

 

Rosé Wine Dinner at Abacus: A four-course meal prepared by Chef Kent Rathbun and paired glasses of rosé from Spain, France, and California will be featured this Thursday, July 31. Guest Todd Ruback, the Regional Manager for Vineyard Brands, will lead table discussions and give insight on each pairing.

 

Tequila Dinner at Komali: A five-course tasting menu of Mexican food by Executive Chef Julio Peraza paired with tequila cocktails prepared by mixologist Leann Berry will be served up beginning at 7pm.

 

Lexus Supper Club: Dine at Komali or Salum between now and August 1, show them your Lexus key, and receive a complimentary chef’s hors d’oeuvre. You’ll also be entered to win a seat at the VIP dinner, which takes place on August 7.

 

Chefs at the Market: The second-to-last cooking class at the Dallas Farmers Market is this Saturday, August 2. This week Chef Michael West will present an Introduction to R Bar & Grill, a theme based on his restaurant at the Hilton Arlington.

 

Food Truck Schedule: See where favorite meals-on-wheels will be this week.

 

TEXSOM: Buy tickets now for the 10th annual Grand Tasting and Awards Reception, which will take place August 9-11. This is the only conference in the world co-presented by the four major education/certification organizations for wine. There will be 23 seminars, 39 Master Sommeliers, 10 Certified Wine Educators, 6 Masters of Wine, and more than 200 wines up for evaluation.

 

Restaurant Week: Don’t forget to get your reservations for Restaurant Week, which begins Monday, August 11. 

 

News: 

Fat Rabbit: After the closing of Sfuzzi in Uptown months ago, there has finally been progress on a new concept. The new restaurant will be called Fat Rabbit and will open in October of this year. The theme? “An upscale American Tavern sourcing local Dallas produce, hand-crafted cocktails, and top-of-the-line service.”

 

Stonedeck Pizza Pub: The newest pizza joint is open now in Deep Ellum. They’re open daily from 11am-midnight and on Thurs.-Sat. they’re open late until 2am. You can enjoy crispy, thin-crust pizza as well as more than 80 varieties of beer and 20 varieties of moonshine.

 

Lauren Festa: FT33‘s head bartender served her last drink at the location last Saturday. Beginning August 4, she will join Danny Caffall at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek.

Flavors of Dallas: The Hyatt Regency Dallas is hosting some of D-FW’s finest chefs for a night of fabulous food and drink. Chefs will prepare five course meals paired with select wines tonight, Wednesday, June 25. The event takes place in 20 cities across the U.S. and benefits the American Liver Foundation.

 

Vegan Beer Dinner: The Libertine Bar is hosting a special vegan dinner tonight that includes craft beer paired with watermelon ancho gazpacho, jalapeño cornbread, strawberry balsamic ice cream and more.

 

The YardBirds: This London-based blues and rock band is coming to the Granada tonight.

 

J Black’s: Every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., this Henderson Ave. bar hosts a trivia night with prizes and drink specials. Every Thursday is Throwback Thursday, which includes “the music you love, the drinks you remember, and the prices you miss.”

 

Street Art Camp: Have a teen looking to express themselves creatively? How about through some good old fashioned graffiti? The Dallas Contemporary is holding a weeklong program with hands-on training and street art history lessons.

 

Swine & Wine Anniversary: The Wine Poste is turning one with a five course meal on Thursday, June 26. The meal will be all about the pig as interpreted by Chef Graham Dodds, of Hibiscus, and Chef Matt Ford, formerly of CBD and Craft.

 

Decks in the Park: Klyde Warren Park has invited local DJ’s to take over the park and get you dancing under the stars from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.

 

A Sampling of Spain: The Grape is hosting a “Come As You Are” three-course dinner with Spanish wines Thursday night.

 

Les Misérables: From Friday, June 27, to August 10, lose yourself in this play that has captured audiences worldwide. The shows will be performed at AT&T’s Wyly Theatre.

 

Stuart Little: This adorable show continues on Saturday, June 28, at the Dallas Children’s Theater. Shows are at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

 

Music on the Porch: Enjoy live music from local artists on the Southwest Porch at Klyde Warren Park on Saturday starting at 2:30 p.m.

 

Cane Rosso #GlamourDateNight: As a part of a nationwide campaign led by Glamour magazine, Cane Rosso is bringing back date night by offering a Neopolitan pizza, salad, and a mini-carafe of wine for $30 on Saturday.

 

Allen USA Celebration: Kick off the Fourth of July a little early this weekend. Saturday, head to Allen for music, food, and fireworks.
