Need A New Year’s Eve Ride? Take DART

Need A New Year's Eve Ride? Take DART

If you’re looking for easy transportation solutions for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, you’re in luck. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) want to make sure you get to and from your events safely with extended hours and services. Here are the details:

Wednesday, December 31:

DART buses and the TRE will be on a regular weekday schedule, but an extra westbound TRE train will leave 20 minutes after the Big D NYE fireworks at Victory Station outside American Airlines Center.

DART Rail has a regular weekday schedule until midnight. Trains will then run every 30 minutes until 2 a.m. Two-car trains will operate on the Red, Orange and Blue lines with three-car trains on the Green Line.

If you’re attending the Big D NYE party, the last DART trains will leave from the event as follows:

-Red Line to Parker Road departs West End at 2:14 am.

-Red Line to Westmoreland departs West End at 2:18 am.

-Blue Line to Downtown Rowlett departs West End at 2:17 am.

-Blue Line to Ledbetter departs West End at 2:16 am.

-Orange Line to Parker Road departs Victory at 1:57 am.

-Orange Line to DFW Airport departs Victory at 2:05 am.

-Green Line to North Carrollton/Frankford departs Victory at 2:29 am.

-Green Line to Buckner departs Victory at 2:02 am.

On Thursday, January 1, DART buses and light rail and DART Paratransit will all run on a Sunday schedule, but TRE will not be in service.

DART Arrives at D/FW August 18

 post

Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s long-held goal of providing light-rail service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport becomes a reality Aug. 18. Area residents will be able to take trains directly to D/FW’s Terminal A  and visitors can take the train from the airport to any of DART’s 61 North Texas stations.

The additional five miles of service added from Irving’s Belt Line Station to the D/FW Airport Station will make what is already the nation’s longest light-rail system 90 miles long.

Originally scheduled to open in December, the station is arriving early and under budget, according to DART officials.

August 18: truly a day for us all to celebrate!
