He joined ReeceNichols, HomeServices of America’s Kansas City affiliate, in 2007, and served as corporate legal counsel before being promoted to chief administrative officer. Before joining the Ebby Halliday Companies, he served as senior counsel for HomeServices, where he supported the company’s acquisitions and technology initiatives. Chris and his wife, Melinda, have three children. He enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle, and has completed two Ironmans and five Half-Ironmans, as well as numerous marathons and other races. His other great passion is spending time with family.

Jill Reagor Smith Named EHC Success Coach


The Ebby Halliday Companies have appointed Jill Reagor Smith to a new position at the North Texas-based residential real estate services firm: Success Coach. Chris Kelly, President and Chief Executive Officer, recently made the announcement.

“A natural teacher and mentor with over 20 years of real estate experience in D-FW, Jill brings proven leadership skills and industry expertise to our three real estate brands, Ebby Halliday Realtors, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate and Williams Trew,” Kelly says. “We are very pleased that she has accepted the role of Success Coach with the Ebby Halliday Companies and feel strongly that new and experienced sales associates will benefit from Jill’s passion for excellence.”

A sixth-generation Texan, Reagor Smith is passionate about the residential real estate business and the professional relationships she is privileged to enjoy.

As a licensed real estate agent, Reagor Smith became a trusted advisor for clients. She will evaluate needs, develop training materials and present classes and seminars in unison with, and under the direction of, Professional Development Officer Denaige Pizzutello. In addition, Reagor Smith will conduct in-person and virtual sessions and training with individuals and groups.

After graduating from Texas A&M University and prior to entering the real estate profession, Reagor Smith worked as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. She is married to Brian, a real estate appraiser, and the couple has an 18-year-old son, Spencer. She particularly enjoys volunteering, designing jewelry and cooking. Her other great passion is spending time with family and friends at the family’s Texas Hill Country ranch.

Helping Neighbors, Honoring 75 Years of Service


Considered one of Texas’ most successful businesswomen, Ebby Halliday Acers left a mark not only as a pioneer in North Texas’ residential real estate industry, but as a philanthropist who believed in giving back to the communities her namesake company serves. To mark our 75th anniversary as a leading real estate provider, we chose to honor this legacy by hosting a fundraising drive across our approximately 2,000 agents and employees to support the North Texas Food Bank and the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Ebby employees reached out to their networks to raise funds for hunger-relief in North Texas at a time when food bank services are needed more than ever due to the ongoing economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

“Our agents’ work and efforts this year have resulted in a thriving real estate market during a pandemic,” said President and CEO Chris Kelly. “But we know there are so many more in our community who are struggling, and this is a year, more so than ever, to really support them.”

The impact of the pandemic is a driving factor in the Ebby Halliday Companies’ focus on community outreach and charitable giving as we celebrate 75 years of service. And in this season of giving thanks, our storied brand saw a great opportunity to showcase how collaboration and partnership strengthens our communities. 

As the employee giving campaign entered its final push leading up to Thanksgiving, the board of the Ebby Halliday Foundation made a matching gift offer. The Foundation provided a $2 match for every $1 donated (up to $30,000), tripling donations and encouraging agents to meet – and surpass – the $75,000 goal. We are thrilled as a company that not only did we meet the goal, we raised $110,000, providing 330,000 meals for our neighbors across North Texas.

With the ongoing pandemic and its devastating results, food insecurity remains a major issue in our region. If you are able to donate to the North Texas Food Bank or the Tarrant Area Food Bank, we encourage you to “do something for someone today.”

Ebby Halliday Companies Announce Home Office Move

“This beautiful new office is built for the future and now reflects the current culture and mission of our organization,” says Chris Kelly, President & CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies. “Situated just off the Dallas North and Sam Rayburn Tollways, it is centrally located to our 31 offices across North Texas.” 

Adds Vice President of Finance and Operations Anthony Jackson, who oversaw the project from inception to completion, “The Ebby Halliday Companies new headquarters was designed from the ground up to support our agents and clients. We now have all of our central operations under one roof, including brokerage, mortgage, insurance and title services. In addition, we have a beautiful new onsite training center.”

Completed with attention to detail by Dallas-based Conceptual Interiors, Ebby’s new corporate office features approximately 17,000 square feet of space that better meets today’s work needs with a focus on employee collaboration. Given today’s modern work environment and needs, the new space is deliberately smaller than the previous space which was over 34,000 square feet. However, you would never know it when you walk the space with its increased use of glass-enclosed offices and conference rooms, a nostalgic 30-foot wall mural of Ebby overlooking downtown Dallas in the 1950s, a video and photo studio, and a shaded outdoor courtyard.

Sales Leaders Earn NAR Diversity Certification

Shelly Nelson has been named Recruiting Specialist for the Ebby Halliday Companies. Chris Kelly, president and CEO, recently made the announcement. 

Ebby’s in-house recruiting is recognized among the best in the residential real estate industry. Former Director of Recruiting Merry Shuck will transition to a new role as Director of Market Expansion for the Ebby Halliday Companies.

“I want to thank Merry for her significant contributions and I’m very happy to welcome Shelly Nelson to the Ebby Halliday Companies,” Kelly said. “Widely admired and respected in the North Texas residential real estate industry, Shelly possesses an extensive résumé and an intimate understanding of recruiting.”

This week it was our honor at the Ebby Halliday Companies to host HomeServices of America CEO Gino Blefari. Gino met with Top Producers, leaders and employees from throughout the company during his Texas visit. He also shared words of wisdom gained during his remarkable career and his excitement about all the extraordinary things happening at HomeServices of America and the Ebby Halliday Companies.

 

Blefari has been CEO of HomeServices of America since January 2019. Prior to that he served as chief executive officer of HSF Affiliates. He is the founder of Intero Real Estate Services, based in California’s Silicon Valley, and served as its president and chief executive officer.

 

Blefari began his real estate career in 1982 and for the next 14 years was a top-producing agent averaging 61 homes sold per year. During this time, he not only excelled as a salesperson, but also as a manager and then chief operating officer of Intero. By 2000, he had the top five offices and seven of the top 11 offices within Century 21’s 6,300 worldwide offices.

 

In 2001, he became a senior vice president of NRT, where he began working on a national level. He has more than 25 years of experience in real estate sales, development and management, from local to national operations.

 

In 2014, Blefari was inducted into the Mike Ferry Organization’s Hall of Fame. Out of 5,000 mentors across the country, he was presented with the Mentor of the Year Award in 2012 by The Buffini Company. Additionally, he was honored with RISMedia’s National Homeownership Award for “outstanding achievements among residential real estate’s most influential and charismatic leaders.”

Members of the Ebby Halliday Companies leadership team recently gathered for a fun – and productive – team-building event.

 

Held at PINSTACK in Plano, the event was divided into two halves: an interactive session that addressed such topics as, “How can we better support our sales associates?” and “How can we better communicate as an organization?” The collaborative environment produced answers that leadership throughout the organization can implement to create a more successful and creative workplace for all members of the Ebby Halliday Companies.

 

The second half of the event – bowling as team members – provided the opportunity to meet people from throughout the company one might not ordinarily interact with while performing their day-to-day job duties. It was a great opportunity to create genuine connections and lay the foundation for an even brighter future for everyone fortunate enough to be associated with the Ebby Halliday Companies.
