It’s no secret, D-FW is a treasure trove of amazing restaurants. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who lives in the area, even a born-and-raised native, who doesn’t have a bucket list of restaurants they want to try. It seems as though there is a constant flow of delicious spots popping up everywhere, causing this list to grow each day. These new restaurants don’t always make it, but those that do tend to become household names. And, when we’re really lucky, these mouth-watering places open new locations, spreading the restaurant wealth throughout the D-FW area. D-FW to Houston in 90 Minutes?!

dfw houston rail

A bullet train that would travel up to 205mph could get you from D-FW to Houston in just 90 minutes. Imagine the number of people whose lives would be changed by this (or just see the actual numbers here).

The idea has been in the works for a couple of years, but last week there was a major breakthrough. Aman Batheja, of the Texas Tribune, published this tweet today, “US Transportation Sec. Anthony Foxx just confirmed: feds + @TXDOT + @TexasCentral launching study of DFW/Houston high speed rail line.” In more than 140 characters, that means that the federal government, the Texas Department of Transportation and Texas Central High-Speed Railway will come together to find out whether this idea can become a reality.

Just think- less plane travel, less car accidents, full use of cell phones during the trip…the list could go on and on. It seems brilliant, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
