Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s long-held goal of providing light-rail service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport becomes a reality Aug. 18. Area residents will be able to take trains directly to D/FW’s Terminal A and visitors can take the train from the airport to any of DART’s 61 North Texas stations.
The additional five miles of service added from Irving’s Belt Line Station to the D/FW Airport Station will make what is already the nation’s longest light-rail system 90 miles long.
Originally scheduled to open in December, the station is arriving early and under budget, according to DART officials.
August 18: truly a day for us all to celebrate!
