The phrase “East Dallas Is …” has been making the rounds on social media for a while now as excitement built as to just what the Big Reveal about this special and unique part of Dallas might be. Today we know: East Dallas is the Lake & Garden District.

At Ebby Halliday, we love the newly revealed logo and we love that it grew out of an organic community project that involved many people who are passionate about their community.

Says Darlene Ellison, a lifelong resident of East Dallas and a longtime leader in the community, “In planning for the future of East Dallas, we believe that drawing recognition toward the area will not only bring greater traffic to local businesses, but it will also assist with enhancing our top-notch schools, maintaining strong property values, and bring an increased awareness of our eclectic, diverse community.”

At Ebby Halliday, we couldn’t agree more. We’re proud of our deep East Dallas roots and equally proud to be the only real estate company sponsor of “East Dallas Is.”

Whether you live in East Dallas, are considering a move there, or just admire a community with a whole lot of spirit and soul, we encourage you to support this unique part of Dallas. If you’re visiting, stay awhile – you’ll be glad you did.

East Dallas Is …

East Dallas Is …

“We want people to see the pride from inside out.”

That’s the way Darlene Ellison – a lifelong resident of East Dallas and a longtime leader in the community – describes the organic community project known as “East Dallas Is …”

Even though the project’s Big Reveal isn’t happening until Monday, the phrase East Dallas Is … has been making the rounds on social media for a while now as the excitement builds as to just what the announcement might be.

The grassroots effort is a partnership between the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce, White Rock Partnership, neighborhood organizations across East Dallas and several neighborhood associations.

“In planning for the future of East Dallas, we believe that drawing recognition toward the area will not only bring greater traffic to local businesses, but it will also assist with enhancing our top-notch schools, maintaining strong property values, and bring an increased awareness of our eclectic, diverse community,” says Ellison.

At Ebby Halliday Realtors, we’re proud of our deep East Dallas roots and equally proud to be the only real estate company sponsor of East Dallas Is … When our founder, Ebby Halliday, first arrived in Dallas she lived in an East Dallas boarding house. Today, East Dallas is home to our Ebby’s Lakewood and White Rock/Lake Highlands offices and the Ebby House at Juliette Fowler Communities, an innovative transitional community for young women who have aged out of foster care. We’re thrilled with the good work that is being done at The Ebby House, and we’re very happy to be a part of it.

East Dallas is many things to many people: unique, special, beautiful, community-oriented, nationally recognized, and just plain neighborly, among them. To us, East Dallas Is … Ebby.

We love East Dallas and can’t wait for the Big Reveal on social media Monday. For now, follow this organic community project on Facebook and Instagram and submit your own photos or phrases that fill in the blank after East Dallas Is …
