Frisco’s Held Wins Prestigious Award

post

At the recent Texas Association of Realtors Winter Meeting in Austin Ebby Frisco Associate Meredith Held was recognized for her determination and contribution to Texas real estate.

Held, who is a member of the Collin County Association of Realtors and a past president of the association, won the Government Affairs Strike Force Award for initiating the “Bury the Lines” campaign in Frisco. “Bury the Lines” is an effort to have overhead high-voltage transmission lines that are proposed to run along a large and primary street in Frisco, be buried underground.

In 2013, Meredith asked CCAR for its support in fighting the proposed lines. In 2014, Adam Majorie, CCAR’s Government Affairs Director, requested funds from the Issues Mobilization Political Action Committee and was successful in obtaining funds to print yard signs, have an informational posting on an electronic billboard in the area, secure a lobbyist, and hire a law firm to represent those who wish to testify before the Texas Public Utility Commission.

Due to her diligence and commitment to retain Frisco’s property values, Meredith was awarded. “I was extremely surprised and very honored to receive this recognition,” she says.

Meredith, thank you for your service to our industry and congratulations on a well-deserved honor!

Happy Hill Choir Spreads Holiday Cheer

Happy Hill Choir Spreads Holiday Cheer

The holiday season kicked into full gear at the Ebby Halliday Corporate Office recently as we enjoyed the sounds of the Happy Hill Farm Choir. Each year about this time, Happy Hill Founder Ed Shipman and the choir make their rounds to spread cheer to corporate supporters of the farm.

Happy Hill Farm is a 500-acre farm that’s home to North Central Texas Academy, an independent, accredited, coeducational, interdenominational college-preparatory, day, boarding and international school near Granbury. Boys and girls ages 5 to 18 live, work and study at Happy Hill Farm, which accepts no federal or state funding, nor United Way money.

For many years Happy Hill Farm Academy has been near and dear to Ebby Halliday Realtors. The Ebby Halliday Library is located at Happy Hill’s academic complex.

Ebby’s Little White House Lights Up for the Holidays!

Ebby's Little White House Lights Up for the Holidays!

Ebby’s Little White House Associates and staff, clients, children, grandchildren, and members of Ebby’s Corporate Office recently joined in a Dallas tradition: the annual lighting of the iconic office at Northwest Highway and Preston Road for the holidays.

As part of the festive event, members of the office collected new toys for patients at Children’s Health, the nation’s seventh-largest pediatric health care provider and host of Saturday’s Dallas Children’s Health Holiday Parade.

Jolly Old Saint Nick arrived just in time for the celebration on the back of a bright red convertible. Santa even led the crowd in counting down to the much-anticipated lighting of Ebby’s beautiful Little White House.

Below are just a few of the excited faces we saw in the crowd:

Eat Pizza, Make a Difference for Deserving Young Women

Pie it Forward Yellow Flyer

Tomorrow, November 25, offers a fantastic opportunity to help out our friends at The Ebby House at Juliette Fowler Communities. From 4 to 9 p.m., 50 percent of your dining tab at Project Pie Pizza will be donated to The Ebby House, an innovative new transitional community for young women who have aged out of foster care.

Every year, thousands of young women age out of the foster care system. Many of them face severe outcomes due to lack of family and adult connections. The Ebby House program seeks to reverse negative trends and outcomes by offering young women a home to live in and mentors to love them while they learn to become self-reliant and entrepreneurial — volunteers and mentors themselves — which is reflective of the values and life of Ebby Halliday.

Project Pie Pizza is located in Preston Center. Present the yellow flyer at the time of order, either via paper or online. Thanks for supporting the Ebby House and enjoy your pie!
