SMU Tate Lecture Series Features Robert Edsel

The 34th season of the SMU Tate Lecture Series continues October 20 with the Anita and Truman Arnold Lecture featuring Robert Edsel. The lecture marks the 250th in the widely acclaimed series.

An SMU alum, Edsel is founder and president of the Monuments Men Foundation for the Preservation of Art and the author of three books that center on the recovery of artwork stolen during World War II. Edsel’s second book was the inspiration for “The Monuments Men,” the 2014 film directed by and starring George Clooney.

Ebby Halliday Realtors is proud to be in the third year of a four-year sponsorship of the Tate Lecture Series, which brings a broad range of intellectual and entertaining voices to SMU and the D-FW community.

A portion of the proceeds from each lecture supports the next generation of leaders by providing full-tuition scholarships and study-abroad opportunities for exceptional SMU students.

Happy Hill Choir Spreads Holiday Cheer

Happy Hill Choir Spreads Holiday Cheer

The holiday season kicked into full gear at the Ebby Halliday Corporate Office recently as we enjoyed the sounds of the Happy Hill Farm Choir. Each year about this time, Happy Hill Founder Ed Shipman and the choir make their rounds to spread cheer to corporate supporters of the farm.

Happy Hill Farm is a 500-acre farm that’s home to North Central Texas Academy, an independent, accredited, coeducational, interdenominational college-preparatory, day, boarding and international school near Granbury. Boys and girls ages 5 to 18 live, work and study at Happy Hill Farm, which accepts no federal or state funding, nor United Way money.

For many years Happy Hill Farm Academy has been near and dear to Ebby Halliday Realtors. The Ebby Halliday Library is located at Happy Hill’s academic complex.
