Ebby Halliday Companies Set the Bar High for Agent/Staff Retention

These days, no one stays in one workplace for 25 years. Unless, of course, they really want to. And apparently 14 Ebby Halliday and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate agents really want to.

On Wednesday, September 21, these seasoned real estate professionals gathered along with sales leaders and home office executives, at Al Biernat’s North in Addison for a special celebratory lunch. Last year, the Ebby Halliday Companies fêted 43 such 25-year anniversaries, so the ranks just keep swelling.

PHOTO CAPTION: 25-year celebrants from left to right: Lee Thomas (DPM Park Cities Sales Leader), Susan Nelson Wheeler (DPM Lakewood), Greg Hutchinson (Ebby Southwest Dallas | Ellis Co.), Beth Leath (Ebby Plano West), Judy Gay (Ebby McKinney), Suzanne Ussery (Ebby North Dallas), Ann Fleet (Ebby McKinney), Marc Anthony Vita (Ebby Frisco) and Helen Coleman (Ebby McKinney). Not Pictured: Pam Boronski (Ebby Plano West), Carolyn Casselberry (Ebby Arlington), Helen Curry (Ebby Plano), Prissy Pulley (Ebby Plano), Genie Rousseau (Ebby Lakewood | Lake Highlands).

As they raised a glass, Ebby Halliday Companies President Carolyn Rosson praised the recipients in her remarks.

“You all lead the culture,” she said. “You are the reason other agents want to join our firm. It’s because of you, the way you serve your clients and the way that you do business. So thank you, thank you, thank you.”

PHOTO CAPTION: Sales Leaders in attendance, from left to right: Pamela Young (Ebby Southwest Dallas | Ellis Co.), Malinda Howell (Vice President Ebby Halliday Companies), Diane Hausler (Ebby Allen | Fairview | Lucas and Ebby Plano), Tiffany Anderson (Ebby McKinney), Bill Tucker (Ebby Frisco), Hillary Hansen (Ebby Plano West), Lee Thomas (DPMRE Park Cities), Jennifer Young (Ebby North Dallas) and Carolyn Rosson (President Ebby Halliday Companies)

As for why someone may stay at the Ebby Halliday Companies so long, DPMRE Lakewood agent Susan Nelson Wheeler provided a bit of insight.

“I started at Ebby Halliday a long time ago,” she said. “I get a lot of offers to come with other companies and I always tell them, ‘I’m not leaving. There’s no reason to leave.’ They support us in every way. They’re always thinking of new ways they can do things to make our lives easier.”

About his decision to join from another brokerage 25 years prior, Ebby Southwest Dallas | Ellis Co. agent Greg Hutchinson added, “I think the thing that made the difference with Ebby was the reputation of the company. The fact that when I went into somebody’s home to discuss the sale of their house, I had that company name behind me and that carried a lot of weight. They may not have known me from Adam, but they certainly knew the name Ebby Halliday.”

Senior Vice President, Brokerage Malinda Howell summed up the overall vibe of the occasion by saying, “This is an iconic company with iconic people. I think you are all living out our mission of ‘People First,’ and we are so honored to continue to have you. That doesn’t mean you can go anywhere – you’ve got 25 more years here. Who’s in?”

Carolyn Rosson Named President of the Ebby Halliday Companies

Carolyn Rosson has been named President of Brokerage of the Ebby Halliday Companies. Over her 41 years at Ebby Halliday, Rosson has held a variety of leadership positions within the organization. Most recently Rosson served as Senior Vice President, overseeing half of the brokerage’s offices under the Ebby Halliday, Dave Perry-Miller and Williams Trew brands. Prior to that, Rosson led the company’s Southlake office.

As President, Rosson will lead the day to day sales operations of the brokerage, ensuring the company continues to provide its sales associates, buyers and sellers a best in class experience. “I’m honored to lead our teams at the Ebby Halliday Companies and to work even more closely with our talented management team, sales associates and employees at all our brands to better serve our clients and our communities,” said Rosson. Malinda Howell will serve as Senior Vice President of Brokerage under Rosson, overseeing the 35 offices of the Ebby Halliday Companies.

Rosson’s new role comes as part of an announcement that Chief Executive Officer Chris Kelly will have the additional title of Executive Vice President for HomeServices of America, the parent company of the Ebby Halliday Companies.

“Carolyn absolutely lives our mission of People First in all that she does,” says Kelly. “As I take on additional duties for HomeServices, I am confident that Carolyn, along with our executive leadership team, will continue to innovate and thrive in the years ahead.”

In addition to his duties at HomeServices, Kelly will continue to be involved in company activities, including a special focus on continuing the already rapid growth and expansion of the company’s footprint in new markets across Texas and Oklahoma, in close collaboration with Travis Mathews, the Chief Operating Officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies.

Ebby Halliday Companies Launch Initiative to Serve Hispanic Community

The Ebby Halliday Companies, Texas’ leading residential real estate services company, is launching an initiative to serve the growing Hispanic community in North Texas. This initiative stems from the Ebby Halliday Companies’ ongoing commitment to serve, reflect, and grow with North Texas.

“Homeownership is a fundamentally important and rewarding experience,” says President & CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies Chris Kelly. “At the Ebby Halliday Companies, we are committed to serving all members of the communities in which we operate, not only through assisting them with the home buying and selling process but also through education on how to become a homeowner and how to protect their home and its value. We recognize the complexity of this industry and understand the importance for Hispanics to connect and be accurately informed in their language of preference.”

Leading Ebby’s initiative is Community Affairs Director Fabián Gayosso, who is supported by the company’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officers Sylvia Sotelo Kidd, Pamela Young and Sherry Adams. Born and raised in Mexico City, Gayosso earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and his professional experience includes working at two Consulates of Mexico in the United States and at a marketing firm that focuses on the Latin market. He specializes in strengthening community partnerships and building strategic alliances to develop, implement and promote programs and strategies aimed to improve the living standards of the communities.

“With a team of bilingual agents that speak our language (Spanish) and breathe our culture, the Ebby Halliday Companies are ready to guide Latinos to a rewarding experience, help them reach their goals and get them to the place we all want to be: home,” Gayosso says. “As an immigrant myself, I understand the challenges that people, regardless of their cultural, religious or socio-economic backgrounds, face outside their homeland. I am thrilled to lead this initiative at Ebby Halliday to strengthen the communities we serve.”

Although the focus will initially be on the local Hispanic community, this foundation will allow Ebby to better reflect the company’s current and evolving community within its agent population, leadership and client base.

“We realize our business is based on relationships and that every individual interaction makes a difference,” says Gayosso. “We are committed to being a trusted resource for both our agents and the community and to ensuring exceptional service and a transparent process.”
