Dignitaries, luminaries and friends of both Ebby’s and the YWCA gathered Thursday night at 2603 Inwood Road, a 50-year-old building that will soon be transformed into a state-of-the-art community outreach center.
The $7.3 million “YW” will help lift economically challenged working women out of poverty. Ebby’s Place will be a gathering spot where women come to be mentored, coached and encouraged by their peers.
At the press conference preceding the party, remarks by the speakers, President & CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies Mary Frances Burleson, CEO of the YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas Jennifer Ware, Honorary Campaign Chair Anne Motsenbocker, and Dallas City Councilman Adam Medrano, noted that Ebby Halliday is the ideal person for the new women’s center to be named after. After all, Ebby has helped mentor and open doors for countless women – and men!
Happy 103rd birthday, Ebby!
