Of The Day: Brick Beauties

We love homes of every shape, size, location, and material, but one of the classics will always be brick. Maybe this idea links back to the story The Three Little Pigs, where the brick home was told to be the most sturdy and safe, there’s just something about the look of this material that feels timeless. Whether you currently live in a home made out of brick, stucco, wood, or anything in between, we think you ll appreciate these nine brick homes that just hit the market.

At 4139 Herschel in Dallas, this brick home features a variety of colors in the red and brown families. The off-white accents around the windows and the front door give this property character and appeal. Multiple gray roofs complement the brick and add a layer interest and appeal. The inside of this home has just as much to offer, making it one you should definitely learn more about.

Located in the Frisco, this brick home at 3617 Bloomfield Lane isn t your traditional red brick home. The brick color ranges from dark brown to almost white, making the home look speckled and unique. With two stories, lush landscaping, and fabulous amenities inside, this home is worth a good, long look.

The home at 3625 Southwestern Blvd in University Park is outfitted with assorted brick details. There are borders around the windows, openings in the peaks of the house, and an ornate brick design to the left of the home. This brick is a deeper red that varies only by a few darker shades. With all this and wonderful amenities inside, this brick home is a hard one to pass up.

A French, brick home in Garland can be found at 2714 Woods Lane. This brick is lighter in color, like some rosy shade of white. Dynamic architecture creates multiple levels of brick covered walls, as well as many heights of roofing. Large windows allow light to flood into the lovely interior of this home. You ve just got to check out all the amenities for yourself.

More unique brickwork makes up the house at 2340 Briar Court in Frisco. An array of colors make up this speckled-looking home, which is every bit unique as each brick used to build it. Lush green landscaping stand out and complements this home, which has nothing but positives on the other side of the front door.

In Plano, the home at 5837 Wavertree Lane is a one-story with brick in red, brown, and white. Tall trees frame this beautiful home and make the brick pop, giving this home all the curb appeal and charm it could ever need. Dark French doors further accent the brick and lead into a home filled with desirable features.

Brick is a wonderful material for all types of housing, as seen with this wonderful condo at 5737 Live Oak in Dallas. Made out of a light, beige brick, this three-story condo is a poster child for the versatility, reliability, and stability of this material. If a condo is what you seek, look no further than this work of brick masonry.

Back in Plano, at 1708 Greenway Drive, is a brick home in a lighter hue of red. Here, brick creates wonderful detail around the arched front entryway and door, as well as around the home’s many windows. Layers of brick create interest and only add to the wonderful floor plan and architecture inside.

Last, but not least, is a home at 12416 Meadow Landing Drive in Frisco. The red brick used for this house creates a grand, two-story entry that frames the front door and the large window above it. Layers of brickwork form borders around the windows, garage, and sides of the home. It s no surprise that the wonderful exterior is matched by an interior of the same caliber.

We hope you enjoyed today’s edition of Of The Day, and that you take the chance to tour each one of these beautiful brick homes using the above links. If brick isn’t your thing though, not to worry, there are plenty more days left in the year!

Of The Day: Front Porch Havens in DFW

This OTD is inspired by this week s Want It Wednesday on our Facebook page. We were thrilled to get such a great response from our friends and followers, and it inspired us to dedicate a blog post to the topic. Even in these high temperatures, a cool morning, or evening, on the porch can be a great time to forget all your stress and just watch the sunset (or your quirky neighbors). We ve picked five homes currently listed with Ebby agents that have the perfect front porches to sit back, relax, and enjoy the little things that make life so great.

At 9618 Hillview Drive in Lake Highlands is our first dreamy front porch. This brick, Georgian-style home has beautiful white banisters on two stories, one of which surrounds the first floor front porch. This porch has all the southern charm in the world, with white rocking chairs and a porch swing. Can t you just see yourself unwinding right here with a cup of coffee or a cold iced tea? For more information, contact The Dybvad and Phelps Group at 214-669-6255 or dybvadphelpsgroup@ebby.com.

A brick home at 6903 Westlake Avenue in Lakewood is the site of our second featured front porch. This covered area is ideal for an after dinner gathering of family or friends. It’s surrounded by large brick archways and has a fan to keep you extra cool in this triple digit heat. It is currently home to a couch, two chairs, and two tables, which show off just how spacious this area is.For more details, contact Streiff and Williams at 214-729-3595 or streiffwilliams@ebby.com.

A refined Victorian home in Waxahachie can be found at 401 Oldham. The front porch here seems so airy and peaceful. The home is up off the street, giving the porch a great view of passersby. There is currently a swing on one end of the porch, leaving the area on other side open for a table and a few chairs. Grab your favorite drink and wave to the neighbors as they walk by with their dogs from the comfort of your new porch swing. Contact Jan Davis at 9972-283-7519 or jandavis@ebby.com for more on this property.

Our fourth front porch is in McKinney at 902 W Louisiana Street. This area also has a white banister, like our first home, and a great fan, like our second. It seems to be a pretty perfect combination of size, shape and features. As far as we re concerned, give us a rocker, a little shade, and the peace of mind of owning our own home and we re happy, happy, happy. To learn more, contact the Riederer & Hogan Group at 214-707-9557 or rhgroup@ebby.com.

Ok, how great is this one? We re in the Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica area of East Dallas at 7006 Santa Monica Drive for our final front porch. This one also features a charming white banister and plenty of room for family and friends. Grab a chair, take a breath, close your eyes, and you might just feel like you re on a mini-vacation without ever leaving home. If you d like more details, contact Cary Norton at 214-704-2705 or carynorton@ebby.com.

Thanks for checking in with our latest Of The Day. We hope everyone has a great weekend and finds some time to relax, even if it’s not on one of these fabulous front porches.
