Food Truck Schedule: Here’s where you can find your favorite meals-on-wheels this week in Dallas.


Chill Bar Craft Beer Dinner: Grapevine Craft Brewey and Chill Sports Bar are teaming up on Wednesday, August 20, to bring you live music, beer, and a menu that includes craft beer brisket sliders, steak stuffed with sausage, and a Sir William Brown Ale float.


Dames Dinner Club: Every Wednesday at Standard Pour in Uptown in ladies night. This week’s menu includes watermelon gazpacho, shrimp enchiladas, and a chocolate hazelnut tart.


Deep Ellum Brewing Company Tours: Every Thursday and Saturday, head to one of Dallas’  favorite craft beer spots for a tour, signature glass, beer tasting, and live music.


Samson’s Hotdog Creation Competition: Friday, August 22, “come out with $5 and a smile to Samson’s and try your hand at Weeniology. Build the perfect Wiener, take it’s picture, and qualify it to be named the next big weenie on the menu!” The “Big Wiener” will also get one free hotdog a month for a year.


National Wine Release Dinner at III Forks: Friday night, III Forks presents an exclusive National Wine Release Dinner featuring Agustin Francisco Huneeus, the proprietor of Quintessa. The menu includes scallops, rabbit confit pot pie, a USDA Prime strip loin, and a dessert called “Death By Chocolate”.


2nd Annual Sausage Fest: Saturday, August 23, 105.3 The Fan is hosting it’s second annual day of grilled sausages, adult beverages, and live music at Main Street Garden Park.


Pop-Up Pastry Bake Sale: Saturday’s event at Empire Baking Company will see 100% of proceeds go to support Duck Team 6, a local dog rescue. The pastry chef showcase features Laurel Wimberg and gives the community an opportunity to meet the person behind the desserts at Fort Worth’s AF+B. Food will be served from 10am-2pm, or until sold out, and will include black walnut pie, blueberry almond buckle, and bacon cheddar scones.




“Mother Effer” Challenge: Zoli’s Pizza has implemented a challenge in honor of one of its newest menu items. The Mother Effer includes four slices of New-York style slices (soppressata, Luscher’s sausage, white pie and daily feature), one slice of Grandma pie, two slices of Sicilian (cheese and soppressata), three garlic knots, three soppressata knots and a “mountain” of zucchini fries with a side of housemade jalapeno ranch and marinara sauce. If you can down it all by yourself you get the $35 platter for free.


Blind Butcher: The new staple on Greenville Ave. has introduced pork pies to its menu. Think hot meat, flakey crust, and nutmeg.


Cheezie’s Frisco: Who’s a fan of gourmet mac ‘n cheese and grilled cheese? Maybe the better question is, who isn’t? Frisco now has a brand new family-owned restaurant that specializes in both. Like their motto says, it’s perfect “for the kid in all of us.”


Ashwood Bar & Kitchen: In one of the quickest turn arounds ever, this American-style restaurant replaced Bonchon and it’s Korean chicken wings in Upper Greenville on August 14.


Kate Weiser Chocolate: Open as of today, Tuesday, August 19, in Trinity Groves, this gourmet chocolate shop offers classic chocolate bars, truffles, ice cream, and hot and cold chocolate drinks.


Pegaso Mexican Dinner: Fort Worth’s newest “Mex and Tex” joint opens tonight on Bluebonnet Circle. The concept comes to us via the former owners of Monica’s Nueva Cocina and BEE Enchiladeria. The new spot specializes in handmade enchiladas and complete customization with enchiladas, burritos, tortas, and tacos made right in front of their customers.


Gas Monkey Live: The grand opening of Richard Rawling’s newest venture is set for October 11. This 38,000 square foot live music venue will also feature a game room with vintage pinball machines and pool tables.


The Bohemian: The former Ali Baba location on Greenville Ave. will be filled by this Texas-and-Czech-style restaurant on October 14. The main focus will be kolaches, but you can also pick up a great hotdog or burger.


State Fair Food: Here are the fabulous fried food nominees for this year’s Big Tex Choice Awards: Chicken-Fried Loaded Baked Potato, Deep-Fried Breakfast for Dinner, Deep-Fried Texas Blue Bonnet, Fried Gulf Shrimp Boil, Fried Sriracha Balls, Fried Sweet Texas, Original State Fair Brew-Funnel Cake Ale, and Twisted Texas Tacos.
