Golf Tournament Benefits Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

Golf Tournament Benefits Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Frisco

Ebby’s Frisco Office invites you to participate in its 9th-Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Stonebriar Country Club on Monday, September 18. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Frisco. Recognizing the growing need, Texas Scottish Rite is building a new ambulatory care center in Frisco, at the corner of Lebanon Road and the Dallas North Tollway.

“Ebby Frisco is proud to partner with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, which cares for children with orthopedic conditions, as well as certain related neurological and learning disorders, regardless of the family’s ability to pay,” says Kristi Davis, sales manager of Ebby’s Frisco Office.

Sponsorship of Ebby’s 9th-Annual Ebby Frisco Charity Golf Tournament offers a great experience for players while also providing the opportunity to advertise their company, says Davis. Most importantly, all support from this tax-deductible event will be directly donated to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Frisco.

“Participants in the tournament will enjoy an exceptional golfing event,” says Davis. “There will be raffles, food, drinks and prizes – all in a fantastic environment that will be enjoyable for all.”

“Even if you don’t golf, you’re invited to come to the awards dinner, as well as the live and silent auctions at Stonebriar Country Club,” says Davis. “It’s sure to be a fun time benefiting a great cause, and is only $35. You may also attend the silent auction only for a $10 donation.”

North Texas Cities Top First-Time Buyers List

North Texas Cities Top First-Time Buyers List

Four Dallas suburbs have been ranked as some of the best places in the country for first-time homebuyers, according to a new report by WalletHub.com.

The fast-growing cities of McKinney, Frisco and Allen were 1-2-3 at the top of the list of best markets for first-time buyers, according to the study.

Richardson ranked seventh on the same list.

WalletHub scored 300 U.S. cities for entry-level home buying using factors including affordability, strength of the overall real estate market and quality of life.

The Dallas-area cities shared the top 10 with the likes of Cary, N.C.; Norman, Okla., and Lincoln, Neb.

North Texas has one of the hottest housing markets in the country, with record home sales and the highest volume of new home starts in the country.

But prices have also hit an all-time high, making it more challenging for first-time buyers.

Compared to pricey East and West Coast markets, D-FW cities are still a bargain.

The Top 10 Best Places for First-Time Buyers, according to WalletHub:

* McKinney

* Frisco

* Allen

* Cary, N.C.

* Norman, Okla.

* Lincoln, Neb.

* Richardson

* Boise, Idaho

* Thornton, Colo.

* Murfreesboro, Tenn.

As is often the case with these types of lists, Ebby Halliday Realtors has an office in each of the North Texas cities on the list: Ebby McKinney, Ebby 190 – Richardson, Ebby Frisco and Ebby Allen. If you’re considering buying or selling a home in North Texas – regardless of the town or city –  you can find just the right agent for your residential real estate needs at the award-winning, mobile-friendly ebby.com.

Kristi Davis Named Sales Manager of Ebby Frisco

Kristi Davis Named Sales Manager of Ebby’s Frisco Office

Ebby Halliday Realtors has appointed Kristi Davis sales manager of its Frisco Office. Mary Frances Burleson, president and chief executive officer of the Ebby Halliday Companies, made the announcement.

“Kristi brings extensive sales and management experience, including recently leading both our Irving/Las Colinas/Coppell and Flower Mound/Lewisville offices, as well as a strong desire to assist our Frisco agents in taking their careers to the next level,” Burleson says. “A recipient of the Easterwood Cup Broker/Manager of the Year Award presented by the MetroTex Association of Realtors, Kristi offers a long history of distinguished service to our industry and community.”

Says Betty Misko, executive vice president and director of sales offices for the Ebby Halliday Companies, “I am confident Kristi’s background will serve her well in our Frisco Office. She has an innate understanding of how agents learn, grow and prosper.”

A Dallas-Fort Worth native, Davis has been in real estate since 2002. Having been a top-producing agent she understands the life of a Realtor, the ebbs and flows of the industry, and the importance of lead generation.

“I love what I do,” Davis says. “I feel blessed to have the privilege and opportunity to manage Ebby’s largest office. I have a firm understanding that it’s not about – and never has been about – who is the office’s manager; rather, it’s about our agents. And, the bottom line is we have the right people in the right place, a remarkable group of agents who are ready to serve our valued clients.”

An enthusiastic, natural leader who holds a Broker’s License and the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager Designation, and is widely admired for her ethics and integrity, Davis says she is dedicated to supporting her agents by providing the cutting-edge tools, professional development and one-on-one coaching necessary to help them grow their careers.

Davis has long been active in the North Texas community. She has chaired the MetroTex Leadership Academy and is a board member of the Irving Healthcare Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with her nephews.

“I am truly excited about my new position as sales manager of Ebby’s Frisco Office,” Davis says. “My door will always be open for our agents and our valued clients will reap the benefits.”

Get Your Fireplace Ready for Winter

Get Your Fireplace Ready for Winter

Cooler weather is here and it’s time to get your fireplace roaring again. Before you fill your home with the warmth and scent of a crackling fire, there are some precautions to take.

Check the Chimney — Have you called a chimney sweep recently? Experts recommend having your chimney cleaned once a year. A fireplace is only as good as its chimney, so inspect the exterior structure to make sure there are no issues there as well.

Open the Flue — Ever started a fire and had the room fill with smoke? If you’re new to fireplaces, you may not realize that this happens when the flue is closed. Simply look up and reach for a chain or lever to open it up before you light the fire.

Vacuum — A quick vacuuming of the flue, smoke shelf and the surrounding hearth is the last step in preparation for fabulous fires in the coming months.

If you’re going to be without a fireplace in the upcoming winter months, we have plenty of homes that could have you curling up by the fire in no time. Below are a few. To see all of our incredible homes for sale, visit the award-winning ebby.com.

Ebby’s Frisco Office Raises $76,000 for TSRHC

Ebby’s Frisco Office Raises $76,000 for TSRHC

Ebby’s Frisco Office recently hosted its Eighth-Annual Charity Golf Tournament. One-hundred percent of the proceeds, which totaled more than $76,000, will benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Frisco. Recognizing the growing need, Scottish Rite is building a new ambulatory care center in Frisco, at the corner of Lebanon Road and the Dallas North Tollway.

This year’s charity tournament and after-party were held at Frisco’s prestigious Stonebriar Country Club. The event has grown over the years, from 50 golfers to this year’s 132 golfers and more than 265 attendees at the awards dinner and silent auction.

Stonebriar is one of the finest private country clubs in Texas and we were thrilled they once again hosted our charity tournament. Everyone had a great time benefitting a great cause. Their efforts remind us all of what’s truly important.

Today, at the Frisco Office’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon, Macaluso and our wonderful Frisco Associates presented Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children with a check for $76,145. Congratulations to everyone involved in this extraordinary effort!

Dallas-Fort Worth Housing Market Sizzling Hot

Dallas-Fort Worth Housing Market Sizzles

Wow, it sure did get hot fast this year! Summer has barely unfurled, but the North Texas residential real estate market is already delivering blistering sales in June. In Dallas-Fort Worth, homes are moving off the market 13.6 percent faster than they did at this time last year as prices continue to hit new record highs.

The average home sales price in North Texas in May was $286,200, 6.3% higher than one year ago. However, much of the effect of higher prices is being offset by mortgage rates that are the lowest we’ve seen in three years.

Buying or Selling a Home is Life-Changing

Buying or Selling a Home is Life-Changing

Ebby Halliday, the founder of Ebby Halliday Realtors and an icon in the real estate industry, famously said, “The Constitution of the United States guarantees your right to own the land under your feet, to sell, and to develop it. Whether you want to become an investor, a real estate agent, or a homeowner, real estate is the basis of the American dream.”

Ebby passed away in late 2015 at the age of 104 but that sentiment is still central to our core mission of transforming and elevating the home buying and selling process into the wonderful life-changing experience it can be.

Most of our clients don’t buy and sell homes very often. It’s relatively unknown territory to them. But it’s our native territory, since 1945. We know the landscape. There’s no trail we haven’t been down before. We are here to help you fully experience one of the biggest, most joyful events of your life.

We’re not going to sugarcoat it: Buying or selling a home can be complicated, sometimes very complicated. Fortunately an Ebby Halliday Realtor is here to guide you through the process.

It’s also true that in today’s hyper-competitive North Texas real estate market it’s more important than ever to choose the right agent for your needs. To get started, visit ebby.com.
